  • I really like your concept! The use of shadow creatures combined with alchemy to create combination AND obscurity is super clever! However it does suffer from bugs, the biggest and most obvious one being the infinite jump so you can just fly around in any form by spamming the jump key. Also, the death noise is so horrific and awful it pierced my eardrums right to my soul (not in a good way) Overall this game would be really good with some bug fixes and some polish!

We chose to design a metroidvania game about a shadow cat (named Shadow). Shadow was the result of an alchemist who messed up a summoning spell and must avoid bright lights while collecting bones to evolve. The player will be able to change forms to solve puzzles, access new areas, and eventually collect the final bone to complete the summoning spell.

cute game! it was a little hard for me to understand the narrating a little but i managed xD i found if you go left at the start it crashes? or ends the game as if i completed it? a little tricky with the portals as i had to hit E a few times.  and i think letting the player know that they found the final pile before ending the game so abruptly, i thought i had crashed again xD i loved all the little forms too :D maybe they could have their own unique sounds instead of the cat default one. cant wait to see if you continue it!

What a fun game! Your sense of humor is great! Loved the narrator guiding me along. Well done!

Super cute game, I love the art and the voice for the instructions! I like all the artwork, though some of them seem to be scaled differently so the outlines are different widths, so working on that would elevate it a bit for me.

Is it intended that I can jump infinitely? I'm guessing not really! Good fun though and cute to play!

Edit: Also the mouse still meows... meow :) A variation in meows would be nice also, to make sure I don't hate that poor cat by the end!

I really like the idea behind this one, it's actually kind of similar to our game; multiple states!

I did notice that I could jump forever as the cat and as the mouse, I'm not sure that was meant to be that way or not. Before I noticed it the clock jumps seemed really difficult, not so much after I could swim in the air :D

I really like the concept, and I can already see the puzzle platformer aspect of being able to switch between various forms that have specific abilities. As a platformer, that would be a really fun game loop. Congrats on the jam!

Solid concept! Collecting new bone structures to turn into other animals was a neat idea, though there wasn't much use for the cat form once you get the mouse form as far as I could tell. It would have been fun to have to switch between forms.

Some of those early jumps in the vertical area below the clock were nearly impossible - seemed like I had to use coyote time to pull off some of those long horizontal jumps. Detection for warps didn't always seem to work - sometimes I would press E and nothing would happen. Wasn't always sure where I was supposed to go and there were lots of leaps of faith because I couldn't see where I would land.

I enjoyed the narration and the art was very cute with a kinda watercolory unfinished look that was appealing. And the end screen art was beautiful! Nice work everyone!
