  • A solid entry, clean and effective, enjoyable and functional! Great job! Scope is often one of the hardest parts to get right so keep trying!

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
Platformer, Keyboard Controls, You are shadowing your favorite hero as they take you with them on a dungeon run. This would be the "tutorial level" to learn about the potions you can use...

Extra Notes
Ran out of time for a lot of things (over scope and life) but I had a lot of fun and plan to work on this more when I am not as busy! GDD has more information than what's in the game.

Great start! Found a funny bug: if you're sliding down the side of a brick wall and move toward the brick wall, you'll stick to it. Could be fun to figure out why that happens! Next up is a climbing game xD

It's not much but it's something, as someone says go get the square move!

You got the basics, now you can only improve, keep it up!

Got to play this!

Your interpretation of the theme is actually genius! Using shadow as a verb was so creative! really helps stand out from the crowd of games with the word "light" or "umbral" in their title (which I would never do).

The controls were quite good, even in this short little demo i was able to get a full grasp of them. in a future release, make sure to have it check for a collision below the player when calculating gravity instead of a collision in general to prevent getting stuck on walls (at least that's my guess as to why that happens)

For what it is, this is great. I could definitely see this as something more if life didn't get in the way. you should for sure feel proud of what you were able to accomplish and continue in the hobby!

Thanks for the experience!

Took a look at this, here's what I noticed:

I know the main character's sprite is probably just a dummy sprite but I thought it looked funny, reminded me of the roblox character.

I actually felt like the controls were very precise! Even though the game's really short, getting the controls on the character did not take long at all.

I know you weren't able to really finish the game and all, but you should feel happy you were able to at least submit something. Everyone starts from somewhere. Now you can take the experience from this and plan a little more for the next one.

Good stuff. Keep making games!

It took me a second but interpreting "shadows" as the verb form was very creative! The platforming looks good so far, can't wait to see where it goes!

These are some wonderfully tight controls! An excellent start!

Very cute, I'd say its a success for a tutorial zone! The controls feel really good, but some of those jumps are a tight fit, lol

Congrats on submitting a game for the jam! You've got all the mechanics to make all sorts of puzzle games now. I was able to pick up the red potion and pick up the item. Keep up the good work!
