- I quite liked the art done for your game; the environment stood out nicely with the color pallet used, and the character you play does as well. The controls were simple to grasp in terms of movement, though trying to figure out how to use the shadow feature was a challenge, and at one point didn't seem to work (still unsure about how to do this, but I don't mean the "s" key when you go into the ground/turn into a shadow, I mean when I use left mouse to create what looks to be shadows). I found the way the themes were incorporated for the game to be done well, though, because of my inability to explore a larger portion of the game you had in place, I can only speak to how I liked the character being able to turn into a shadow/use shadow-like powers as part of the controls. I believe you did a good job with everything you showcased, it just feels like I was missing a few things while playing, so that may be on me. All the same, keep up the good work.
- I want to point out that alchemy is not about magic, but transformation & transmutation. Perhaps have the raven ability for shadow transmutation?

The protagonist is a stylised anthropomorphic raven with the ability to create shadows that help them navigate a strange world. The player should feel curious about their surroundings while they uncover the story.
‘Shadow & Alchemy’ - The player has to use their wits and skills to move to their objective, moving in shadows to dodge encounters with enemies emitting light, and use their rune alchemy knowledge to solve puzzles.
Light alchemy and Shadow alchemy are opposing forces – light alchemy destroys shadow alchemy. Light Alchemy is unable to interact with other elements than shadow, therefore, to progress, the player must use Shadow alchemy on non-light elements in the puzzles to block the light.

This game looks really fantastic! I was able to figure out how the shadow alchemy worked. I can see that I can drag out black lines with my mouse. I couldn't tell what they were doing. I think they were supposed to block the light. But then at some point I wasn't able to use the shadow alchemy anymore. Is there an ammo component where I need to reload it? Overall, this game has a nice feel to it, I just wasn't able to figure out a few things.
Yes, there's an ammo component, but the implementation we wanted didn't make it in time, even though it was already completed. We aimed to reload the fuel whenever players reached a checkpoint. The goal was to provide a set amount of resources for specific areas of the level and let the player figure out how to traverse it.
A very clever and fun take on the theme. Gorgeous artwork, environments and sound design! Eager to see this developed! 🌞
Thank you so much! I did all the art, and Deer did all the sound! We're planning on working on it more into what we originally envisioned, but we're all a bit burnt out after what essentially was a sprint. We're hoping we'll have a newer version by November!
This game is really pretty! Did you make the assets yourselves? I love them. And the parallax gives the environment a really beautiful feeling too, lovely!
Yes! Thank you so much! I made every asset from scratch within the duration of the Jam, so it was a lot of work xD All of the animations are made by hand as well
I can relate, and I know how much work that must have been. Respect!
