- Hello Pirate Jammer, Thank you for the submission. Starting with my experience playing the game. I really liked the movement and getting flung around with the recoil and reloading mechanics. I like the way you portrayed the urgency to make it to the end as fast as possible with the music and a timer at the top. The rating at the end was a nice touch. A lot of the bones here are very my style of game, a lot of polish and this could be a really cool game. Some of my sticking points I had a hard time figuring out how to get to the next level until I found there were additional options in the drop down. Sometimes I had a hard time with the controls and getting going felt kind of inconsistent. I either flew across the map or was hopping ineffectually. With that, the skill gap to even get an alright time was really rough. It was a little hard to control the bomb explosion but a cool addition none the less. The art was fun and mildly disturbing, the flesh blob gun at the elevator was very silly. The elevator music in the level select and in-game music helped fit the tone of the situation. I liked the sound effects and some of the little added animations. Finally, the GDD you made ticked all my boxes and you executed well on what you set out to do with the time you had. Thanks again!

Summarise your game!
You are a sentient gun forced to kill a bunch of messed-lab experiments to escape! Inspired by neon-white, you must use yourself to fly through the levels at blazing speeds! Controls use the mouse and keyboard, I tried to implement gamepad, but I couldn't find a way to make it work well.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The game fits the theme very literally. You are a gun. I worked on this game instead of studying for midterms lol
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The gameplay and sound effects.

The fast zooming in and out on click and release felt a bit disorienting at times, but that might be just me. Very fun game overall, well done!
yay, also the barrel is a red herring its to slow however going over the top is definitely faster. well done on the game it definitely feels like a speed running game

YO! But, there is more levels you know. You beat my timr by quite a bit
i beat the game through all 8 levels at Alright at least but wanted to see if i could beat any at Godlike so i retried a couple of the levels and i figured the first one has the most obvious time saves, that's why i chose to practise that level, but i might give speed running some of the other levels more of a go too

I think the controls would be a better if it wasn't a click drag, just a click which launches you in the opposite direction of the click. I had some trouble figuring out the R+LMB hint that seemingly was needed to cross a big gap. I like the neon-white time attack inspiration, i tried to do the same thing in my game. Overall I think you did a really nice job!
I assume you talk about the gap in the first level. That was actually supposed to be A + LMB, since it acts as a "strafe" that sends you further. R is supposed to be introduced later. I had trouble with the tutorialization a bit. Do you mind if I ask what times you've gotten? So far no one has reported getting a godlike rank in any of the levels. The click-drag may seem a bit counter intuitive, but it can be really useful for going for higher times, since more precise shots are needed. Also, congrats on being the only one to directly mention Neon White so far, since it was this games main inspiration.
Are there more than 8 levels? Was super fun to play.
I can make more if people are interested. I'll probably tweak/add some more things, like adding saving.
Nicely done! You made a pretty fun platformer here. Movement felt very nice, slowing down time to help you aim is a nice touch. Loved the reload flip. Very fun to play, great work!

This is really fun to play, I love the reloading, bomb and time speed boosting mechanics. It feels great to move around the level super fast and have the speed effects show on the screen. Also slowing down the time while you're shooting feels great. Amazing work :)
