- I absolutely love puzzle games, and this one is so inventive! Your GDD was easy to follow and I loved that you styled the background of it to be the grid we play on. The grid did make it a little hard to read however, so maybe putting a transparent shadow box under the text to help it stand out a little more could help. I did appreciate that everything could be played via the mouse. I also tested it out with my laptop's touch screen as well, and could move the bullets but not actually click anything to toggle it (i.e. the walls, the ruby, undo, restart). It was also nice that we could rearrange the bullets as we needed to sort of pre-plan a level route. I would love to see more with the story if you continue development - like how did the weapon become sentient? I also noticed that occasionally a red exclamation mark in a box would pop up in the upper right of my screen. It didn't appear on the first level, but it did on the second, and occasionally some levels after that. Since it lets the player know what the numbers mean, it may be important to have on the first level as well. Overall everything was super cute and so much fun!

yes
Summarise your game!
Firewall is a puzzle game where you play as a weapon that has fallen to the ground in the middle of the countryside.
Your goal is to reach a star in an attempt to escape to a better world. To do this, you will recharge the weapon using different types of ammunition. Each ammunition contains a number, and once used, it will propel the weapon by the exact number of spaces indicated, in the direction of your choice.
Various mechanics will be added to make the path to the star more complex, such as destructible blocks or ice blocks.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The player is a weapon and must adapt to this non-human form and the constraints it imposes.
Since a weapon cannot walk freely or jump, I imagined a puzzle game where everything (movement, interaction, etc.) aligns with how a real weapon functions. The player will have to learn and understand the world from the perspective of a weapon.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
no

This game is so cute! The puzzles aren't overly difficult and well designed with a ramping difficulty that never becomes overwhelming. The art, SFX and music all fit together well and everything worked well. I also like that there is an undo button, but again the design was so good I never felt like I truly needed it and felt restarting was a fine decision. I'd keep polishing what you've got here.
Congrats on this submission because it's great!
THANKS!!!! :) :) :)
im a genius
GG!! and thanks for playing!:)
I really like when a puzzle game gives you simple mechanics but then throws complexity at you with the level design. The art is really cute and the sound effects are on point. Really well done! Got stuck on the level of the second screenshot but I had fun the entire way
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)
Always love a little puzzle game. Difficulty is alright, not too difficult yet not too easy, graphics is cute, and music is not overwhelming for a puzzle game too, good on that! The game is quite well polished, so there isn't much to critique, except it would be a bit annoying for the requirement to drag the bullet in place after a while. It doesn't add much to the gameplay or have some special action that required dragging in the first place, I'd suggest just pressing the button would suffice. I also ran into a bug where pressing back send me to the main menu, and I lost all progress on that :(
Other than that, it's a job well done. if it was more developed with more levels and mechanics, I could easily see this small puzzle game selling in steam and I would definitely buy it. Probably its me having a soft spots on good puzzle games. Good job!
It's the first time I've received so many positive messages, I've never been this happy. Thank you so much for this message!!:)
The graphics are cute and, coupled with the music, gives a very whimsical and light feeling to the game, making it quite comfortable to play. The sound effects are satisfying and fitting as well.
The gameplay concept is really interesting and I really like all the different mechanics that are introduced. The puzzles here aren't incredibly hard, but not easy either; they will make you think for a bit. It can be quite challenging!
I thought that, for example, the blocks that move with every shot you make was a very clever mechanic! It made things a lot more complicated than I expected, but it was a welcome challenge. The little hints that show up in the top right corner are also appreciated.
A cool touch that I noticed is that when you click UNDO, the game actually goes back in the music time as well, which I felt was a nice touch.
This game became quite intricate with mechanics that I didn't quite expect, but provided a nice challenge. It felt like a very pleasant experience. I enjoyed this!
thank you very much!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Love the concept! This is a really cool take on the theme. I really like the cutesy artwork and polished gameplay, nice work :)
thanks!! :)
Cute, well made little game :D It’s a great scalable concept, I imagine there’s many kinds of new puzzles and mechanics you could introduce. The art and music are really cozy and bring the whole thing together. Two things I would have liked to see:
Well done! Be proud!
Thank you so much for playing! I’ll take your suggestions into account for a future update! :)
Nice game concept. I really appreciate the undo button, but i think i pressed it too many times and got sent back to the main menu and my progress reset. Good idea and implementation for a puzzle game! Good job!
sorry for this bug i don't know how it happened. thanks for playing:)
