Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes
Summarise your game!
You are a cannon and you have legs. Fire cannonballs with X to break stuff or launch yourself. Stuck? You can reset the level in the pause menu.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are a walking cannon. Even though you don't fire for a violent motive, you're still a weapon
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is my first project done with pico-8 and aside of some code snippets taken from public example cartridges, all of it was made by me. Credit to those are on the game page itself.

Congrats on finishing the jam! I got as far as becoming a Jump Master - unfortunately I was not the chosen one.
I think this is a really smart and simple game. I really liked the puzzle mechanics and collecting the canon balls to help solve the rooms. Even if you knew how to solve a room too it required some good reflexes which was nice.
The art was simple but really communicated what was going on well. And the music was very arcade-y.
I liked being able to chain the canon ball around to move around the levels. The flappy bird level was fun :) The interactive tutorial at the beginning was really well done.
I think a place for improvement is in the controls. I was using the gamepad and using the joystick and a lot of the time when I was using it to jump around facing into the diagonals, I would release the shoot button and at the last moment the joystick would flip direction and instead of moving diagonally I would move horizontally or vertically. This is why I could not clear Jump Master. Would be nice if on fire it kept the direction when it was clicked? Or maybe I was just doing something wrong?
Otherwise it was very well designed! Great job!

This was a fun combination of theme interpretation and vision, to create a tutorial, not of a specific game, but of gaming troupes in general as stated in your target audience (I am very much a fan of this idea). The gameplay reflects this by having the names of the level hint at what you are supposed to do, and the objectives cover a lot of ideas in gaming (e.g. reach the exit, coin collection, target destruction, etc.) in a way that was fun. The controls also fed into this, being tight and responsive: every mistake felt like it was me messing up instead of the game. Moving on to the GDD, there were a few things missing that caught my attention. The first was a lack of graphical information (pictures of the game mechanics or general art style being employed) which helps to keep things consistent. The second piece, and most important for me, was the development timeline section. The development timeline is important for a few reasons: (1) it gives a check for progression, being able to note when things get done and having a clear view of the steps required for the goal, (2) it gives a sense of dependency/importance as certain items will need to be completed before others (i.e. don’t just put the final day as the finish date for every item), and (3) it shows what extra items can be accomplished if there is time, or what things can be left for the next build if you are running behind. All in all, great work!
Really fun game! I played through most of it, and it reminds me a lot of Celeste's dash mechanic but reverse (kind of like TF2 rocket jumping). Pretty cool how you made it all in Pico-8 as well! :)
Man I liked this like A LOT! Got hooked right away. Got to the "Almost there" -level. Great mechanics and plays very well. Gave me a feeling of "mastery" after I finished a difficult level. Congrats!
This game is very fun. Always love seeing some pico-8 in the jam! Great job on all the art and music. I love the "rocket" jump style play here and having to master the jumping around. I had some trouble on the far water level, but after that it felt a lot better. Def had a great time playing this game.
Keep making this and things like it. Very enjoyable!
this game was really fun and cute! the mechanics are really well thought out and robust and it feels really nice to play! i really like the puzzles and the movement they feel really good :) the only thing is occasionally launching diagonally felt a bit finicky and I'd end up being launched either straight up or straight sideways sometimes when I didn't want to, otherwise, this is really well-rounded and a total... BLAST... to play. Good job getting your game in :D
Thank you! Finding out how to properly handle firing the cannonballs was a real challenge. It would have been so much easier if pico8 had a second d-pad or stick, but working around those limitations is part of the fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ay that going over water part cheeky, Took me a bit before realising I could shoot diagonally lol. Did manage to get to past "master of jumping" and get to "Almost there" though! Neat puzzle game!
Thank you! I noticed too late that firing diagonally is not as intuitive as I expected, maybe I could have either added a separate tutorial for diagonal firing or replaced the text on "watch out for water". Lesson learned I guess :D
A LOVELY PLATFORM PUZZLE GAME WITH A GREAT CORE MECHANIC AND A VERY WELL-FIT THEME FOR THE JAM. I COULDN'T MAKE IT PAST THE MASTER OF JUMPING LEVEL BUT I REALLY ENJOYED MY PATH GETTING TO IT. WELL DONE!
Thanks a lot! I thought that if the main firing mechanic was robust enough then the levels would add the complexity and speak for themselves. But if you're stuck on a level there's a cheat code on the end of the game's page.
Oh by the way I saw your game and I have to say WOW.
This is a really fun and cute little game! Well done!
Thank you for your words! Cute/silly was what I was going for, but I was worried that the sprite size limit would mess with that. I'm glad it worked.
