Cute! I've spent quite some time on this one :D but it became a bit frustrating (a combination of unforgiving slide, no save "checkpoints" and small differences between platform spacing which made each step feel like something to memorize to perform correctly). One thing that wasn't intuitive for me was the hover mechanic - I expected it to work like E to activate and then choose a direction to float. Needing to choose a direction first made it hard to use (maybe a overlapping command input window would be more forgiving?).
Way tooo hard at the beginning, I started to mistreat my keyboard… Aaargh! The controller needs to be more forgiving or at the very least don’t make the character slide when landing on a platform… The idea with the height indicator is good, I also agree that the cover art is super cute. Maybe more variety in how you can go up, so that it really becomes a unique platformer.
thank you for the feedback! and haha sorry about the keyboard and yeah i agree its mainly cause i wanted it to be a "rage-game" type of game and thought itd be better to have it more difficult then too easy. And haha yeah i had a lot more platforming ideas but just didnt have too much time to fit them all in, but again thank you for the detailed feedback! ill be sure to include these next time i make something like this again.
Really difficult game, but I dig all the different platforming mechanics. Wish it started easier so i could play around with them more! Super impressive for only a days work. (also I adore the thumbnail image)
wow its an honor to hear this from the pizza host. and thank you for the feedback! and yeah haha sorry about the difficulty i wanted it to be somewhat of a "rage-game" so just for this one i thought itd be better if the game was more difficult then easy but i def could have balanced it a lot better but just didnt have enough time. thank you for this gamejam i had a ton of fun with it!
I like the overall aesthetic but could use some testing as the platforming is a bit unforgiving :)
thank you for the feedback! and haha yeah sorry about that i purposfully made it somewhat unforgiving cause i wanted to make a "rage game" but i think next time ill just make a platformer thats more fair. thank you again for the comment!
Cool platforming mechanics, but very hard as others have said!
thank you for the feedback and playing! haha yeah i was inspired to make a somewhat "rage game" but i think the next time i make a platformer ill def make it a lot more doable.
Quite challenging, I'd suggest to make less complex controls and more forgiving level.
Cool one!
thank you for the feedback! and sounds good! i did want to include a tutorial level before the main one but unfortunately ran out of time. thank you again!
This game is good. I like the platforming challenge, but I do believe the control scheme could use some work. The mechanics (diving, dashing, etc) are good. Overall, a nice game that has potential.
thank you for the feedback! and i agree i def wanted to work on the controls a bit more it didnt feel as fluid but unfortunately it was one of my more busier weeks. just wondering do you think adding a walljump/wallslide mechanic would make this type of game better?
The character and background is really charming, the game is a bit hard since I'm not used to playing platformers on arrow keys :(
thank you for the feedback! and haha sorry i also purposefully made the platformer hard cause i wanted to make a sort of rage game
The platforming feels a little slipperier to me, especially when doing dashes to platforms. But I'm also not very good at platforming.
thank you for the feedback! think it could also be because of how im handling the movement
