Amazing game! The game difficulty is just right. The camera feels fun. When in the menu, particles in the background move to the mouse, and also when particles near the attracting enemy they also move towards it, I thought it was a cool detail. The music in the background is good. The theme implementation is excellent. I think it would be cool to give more indication when you are getting damaged because I only can rely on the hp bar. Good game!
Hi! I played your game on stream on the Pygame Community Youtube channel (TWICE, JUST SO GHAST WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MOCK ME FOR NOT BEATING IT). If you weren't in the stream, and wanted to check out my playthrough and opinions, there are timestamps in the description. Apologies for any audio cutting issues.
Lol, sorry for the torture that you went through. I did notice a missconception about the rotation (not your fault, probably mine). You rotate alot when you just tap the button because you're barely moving. You rotate towards the direction of motion, so if you aren't moving alot, then a tiny tap does alot to change your movement. If you're moving more quickly, then inputs have less of an overall effect on your direction. The best strategy is to change directions smoothly, instead of creeping along and changing directions abruptly.
I wish the coliisions were a little more linient with the spiky bacteria.
Great game! Fits the themes perfectly, the gameplay is simple, but it works well. What are supposed to be the long green strands that serve as wall? Do you had an interest in biology before this jam? Anyway great game, I really like everything about it :)
Hi, glad you enjoyed! The green strands are supposed to be cyanobacteria, but the scale might be off 😅. And yeah, I've always loved biology, it's probably my favourite science.
In school, I always wondered what it was like to be on the slide under the microscope, and today i found out. It's awesome. Great job!
i won :D
Good game. I liked. An interesting idea of the physics of motion in an aquatic environment.
