Beautiful art style and an interesting narrative, took me way too long to get past the plank puzzle and the movement is a bit wonky due to the trees and some awnings hitboxes. Overall, Good job i enjoyed that one!

Interesting game.
Cool graphics and a good narrative.

Thanks, glad you liked it! Did you complete the game?

Nah, we didn't have time (

Very cool graphical style. I don't understand how to get past planks so I haven't rated your game. I've tried multiple ways and still couldn't get passed it.

The colliders on the trees are very wonky. I kept bumping my head and got stuck each time.

Apart from that, really cool and unique game!

Plank puzzle is difficult to figure out. In another comment I put an explanation on how you are able to do it. Colliders are indeed a bit messy. Something to keep in mind for next time. Thanks for playing and I hope youll finish it!

I didn't rated your game yet, cause i didn't finished it yet.
But here my review yet :

Really nice graphism ! The game feel finished and i quickly forgot that you made this in only 4 days.
I liked the exploration feeling, but before reading the note i was clicking everywhere to interact with something ahah.

I was bonking my head against stuff may be a bit to much to be a smooth experience, but the athmosphere of game was to strong for me to leave.

For the planks thing, i try to find a way to do something with them, only to figure out that it can be a physics based answer. (May be a  clue on the physics engine, like rock that you can push arround would have been a good hint)

Appart from that, really good job on this game, i was really amazed.

For the plank i tried to put them on the bridge, i did not succeed to put them well, and they felt off, in the water. Can you tell me what did i did wrong ? And where do i need to put those plank ?

The plank puzzle is difficult. You have to put one plank in a way so it stick between the bridge, and put another one over it so you have about a plank length extra to work with. You should now be able to just about make the jump to the rock. Quite diffucult to figure out, but there was little time and I prioritized other aspects of the game. If I knew about the extra day before I submitted I might have changed it. The headbonking is indeed something I could have changed.

Thanks for playing tho!

Oh okay i see !
The game is may be hard and your level design needed more test, but the presentation of your game is on another level compared to everyone else and for that i hope you get rank 1 in presentation ;)

This was cool!

I have only two criticisms. (I played on a really bad laptop, though, so maybe my low framerate made things more difficult than they had to be.)

First, the puzzle of laying out the plank to jump to the rock was a little cumbersome. I think it would have been better if the plank just clicked into place. Second, it took a bit too long to go from one island to another. Maybe I could've been missing something, though.

Overall though, I think this is a nice game. I really like that the color limit did not stop you from making clear designs. The island was also laid out nicely and felt lived-in despite being small. I also think the method of using notes to navigate the player was clear and intuitive. The voice acting was pleasant too. Great job!

Thanks, the planks placement is a bit hard to get right, I agree, with more time it could have been optimized. Getting from island 1 to 2 should take a few seconds with the boat.

I think the boat being slow might have had to do with my framerate or maybe I should have been pressing the run button. Either way, it's not a huge negative!

Very interesting use of the game jam theme. I like how you took that to create a unique look for your game and it works really well in the game's environment. I'll admit I wasn't able to finish it. I was trying to stack planks to make a jump to the island across from the broken bridge and I'm not sure that's how that was meant to work since I kept falling just short of it XD I like the setup of the story though, and the introductory cutscene.

Thanks for playing, you need to place the planks in a way to give yourself enough distance.

I tried it again and managed to make the jump! Just need to get some practice in. Great game overall. My favourite part is still the appearance of the game. The lighthouse in the distance before it comes fully into view is a highlight of that.

Cool game

Thanks! Did you get to the end?

Yes, I liked your game. An unusual approach to this topic
