Title
Poem for Piano no.1

Description
A short and simple piano piece.

Structure is a simple ABA-form with a short introduction. Since the challenge was to only use piano I wanted to try to produce something that is a bit more realistic, as if a human were playing. To do this I added a lot of small accelrandos and ritardandos to get a more rubato feeling where I wanted it. I also decided to not play and record the piece but write all the notes in the piano roll and then changed strenght, lenght, etc.

I started with this piece 48 hours before the deadline so there are some parts that I would want to be a bit "better". For example I wanted to use a different piano but when I was gonna program pedaling there were no option as the download were corrupted, and with no time to redowlonad I settled on another piano.

Though I haven't played the piece from start to finish myself it should be fully playable with a bit of practice.

Your tribute to 19th-century composition is superb.

You surprised me several times (in the right way) with variations or modulations, notably just before 2'00".

And bravo for your Dali-style cover.

love it! the composition is great but i wish you had some extra time to work on it, if it were on a better piano sound (and maybe with a more realistic rhythm) it would sound amazing :0

Many beautiful moments, reminds me of Chopin Mazurkas and Nocturnes. Excellent use of the ABA form too, really well paced.

Listening to this music really brought back memories of all of those piano lessons I took back in the day... It's quite remarkable how you managed to capture the feeling of something like a Chopin Nocturne! The structure is well-organized and the piece has good balance between the different sections. If you ever get to work on this more, or have a chance to work on another piece like this, you could explore making the left hand more active, with small secondary melodies and voicing interwoven into the accompaniment that supports the right hand. Chopin also does this, and it really adds another layer of expressiveness to his work. A great example of this is in his Nocturne in B major, Op.62 No.1, which has fascinating interplay between the two hands. Overall, great job!

I'm for sure something ofa Chopin lover especially his nocturnes and currently slowing trying to make my way through his 1st ballade (sigh). You make a very good point in making the left hand active, as it is now is very safe but also kinda lazy. My future goals are to to focus more on left hand and you give some great examples on how to, thank you!

This was a very pretty classical sounding piece. Something akin to a gentle Chopin tune. I really appreciated that this is something (with some practice) I could play.

And just curious about the picture. Was the artist going for Dali? Love the idea of a piano in a daliscape.

I was definitely inspired by 1900th century harmony and am a huge Chopin myself (especially the nocturnes, ballades, and waltzes).

As for the picture it's AI generated but it for sure seems "Dali-esque".

Damn, There is like a specific genre of Tv programs produced for Teenagers in my country in the 2000's that used to use Classical music as the End credits soundtrack (There were atleast 2),
and that really sends this vibe.

Nice!
