Title
The Tiny Whistle in the Deep Valley
Description
The "deep valley" is the heavy slap bass that surrounds the whole track. The Tiny Whistle is, of course, the piccolo flute, which has to make its way through the valley. "Piccolo" is literally "small" in my language, hence "tiny" whistle. It's a small instrument, but so powerful that it can defy any other.
For this challenge, I used the following scales: Lydian Augmented, Lydian Dominant, Harmonic Minor. Each section has is supported both by a specific key and time signature: 19/8, 11/8, 7/8
Plugins used
Various sampled instruments from Ableton's library, BBC symphonic orchestra, some external plugins for mixing and mastering

Every game is a surprise. I never know what to expect and yet you kept a nice consistency on the whole track. It feels like a big improv where all the musicians have synchronized their brains
I'm always impressed by original grooves and yours is very good. Making drums sound unusual but interesting is always a challenge for me. And you've done it very well.
the bass reminds me of hell march (C&C). Really like the bass line. The flute and the drums are a nice contrast to the bass. The bass has this dirt like texture to me and the flute represents air/lightness pretty good. I really enjoyed it :)
Very good music! The time signatures make the song unpredictable but exciting. The time signature change around 2;18 caught me off guard, It really hypes me up! Great job!
Love the contrast in the sounds...well composed!
I'm glad the contrast worked! Thanks for listening and for the comment
This piece is just so unpredictable and fun, I love it! Also, the overall sound felt really unique, and I appreciate how you leaned into the character of each scale you used. I enjoyed listening to this a lot, and also learned a bunch from it, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for listening and for the comment! Hearing that you learned something is probably the best thing I could hope to hear!
This works so well, very homogeneous despite the modes and time signature changes.
Thank you for listening and for the comment! Making it homogeneous was the most complicated part, I'm glad it worked!
On 1:40 Simpsons intro. Love grooves and tension, unpredictable but entertaining development.
Haha that's true! The Simpson intro is also in Lydian dominant, I didn't remember that. Thanks for listening and the comment! :D
Funky time signatures are super fun. I never know what the next note is gonna be because of how frantic the time is which I believe is what you were going for and it works.
Thank you for listening and for the comment! The unpredictability of these signatures can get addictive, and I've already fallen for it :D
