Title
Hits You With A Metal Pipe On Purpose

Description
This was made for Redlines Monthly Composing Challenge #9.
Since it started on April Fools Day, the theme was somewhat of a joke.

Use on of these 3 in your song:
Amen Break (A famous sampled drum loop)
MeowSynth (a synth made with a cats meow)
or the metal pipe falling SFX

Being me I of course chose all 3 at once and so this song came to be

I made the cat soyjack art myself in MS paint and I am really happy with how terrible it turned out.

I got inspiration from a bomber man hero remix for the song Redial made by Qumu on youtube

The cat synths are 1/16th beat ahead of everything so that they feel like they actually come in on beat due to the weird attack that meowsynth has.

I really enjoyed making this song because I don't often make really fast songs but I want to since they are so much fun to listen to.

Plugins used
Amen Break sample 09_175 from Rhythm Lab

Metal Pipe Falling SFX

You handled the integration of the metal pipe very well, with this double impact then reverse and then the full sound on the transitions. And then you totally integrated it with the drums. It's really great.

You went right to the end of the challenge with very few other sounds. You really played the game to the hilt, and the music is great.

It's really interesting how you tried to use all 3 of the challenge options at once. It creates a very silly and fun track. I also like the overall composition and mix.

I love how in the video the cat pops up every time you use the metal pipe sfx, especially at 1:20 lol. Could totally hear this in a game. Great work!

Having all your instruemnts being the challange requirements (Except piano) is wild lol, good job on this goober song!

I think some points (like in 1:30) might need a tiny bit of balancing but other than that this is the exact kind of songs I expected from this challange lol.

Also I love the catjak image!
May I keep it?

Developer

yes you can keep the catjack image

Love the part at 1:00, the style on this is really cool. I do think it may keep the attention better making it a bit shorter or using fewer repeats. I see what Snowly means by the pipe sfx not blending well, but I still liked the inclusion of it and thought it added to the song overall.

Sounds like a very very gloopy goobie silly boss fight. Meowsynth is nicely incorporated and I think you managed to use it with perfection, by using it differently enough  that it feels rather alive!

I'd say sometime the metal pipe sfx doesn't blend well with the song and it become a bit too chaotic.

Other than that great song!

There was actually a LOT more of the metal pipe sfx before but I also thought that it was too much so I removed at least a third of the total ones there were.

for example, during the part with the more consistent short pipe sounds, there are little pauses between some of the short sfx, originally there were more full length pipe sfx there but I got rid of them.
