Yo I loved everything about this! I enjoyed the pacing and had my fingers crossed that there would be a full release with DLC. Here's a link to my playthrough... https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1646635912?t=00h39m06s
Loved playing this. Reminded me a lot of a game I love called Hundred Days(Wine Making Sim). I love the repitition.
The flow of money could be a tad quicker, but other than that I loved it.
Nice artstyle and a very polished experience. I love that you added a music player. Does it do anything besides make you feel cool?
An insane amount of UI to implement. Really scary and impressive. I felt like I was in an OS.
While I understand some peoples wish to make money faster. I think the fact that we are making any money at all is a miracle. Very much easier than real life!
The idea that you have to buy(and presumably play) games to make them fills me with feelings. Good and bad. But makes sense from a gameplay point of view. Could have used health related and/or therapy bills as an alternate resource sink.
A small thing. Some small visual hover/click feedback to the buttons would go a long way to knowing what’s interactive and what’s not. I found myself not knowing what was mock UI and what was real.
Also… singleplayer socialist experience?
Ahahahah that was a great read. Thanks you so much for all the feedback xD. Maybe leaving out therapy bills was a good idea or the player would have always been broke lol. Good point about the UI feedback, definitely could have been better. Regarding Spotif.... I mean.... Pointify... no, it just plays music. Basically a choose-your-own-soundtrack system. Hopefully we covered enough genres to satisfy most people.
Regarding the extremely accurate random title generation, sometimes it does produce some gems. Like... who wouldn't play a singleplayer socialist themed game?
Great implementation and graphics (my only irk with the gui is that I would have liked to see my games separately and with more info on how much they've earned etc).
The only downside to it overall is that I've played a few games like this before (I can't remember the names now, where you unlock for example the Spocktrum 32k, how to do text based games, xyz coding etc and then combine it all).
I have not yet played all the entries, but this is so far the one that has entertained me the longest.
5/5 GameStars with following the theme!
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and awesome rating. We're glad you enjoyed the game! Great idea about seeing your games separately along with more stats, would definitely have been a good addition : P
Vibing to copyright free music, making the most hilarious combination of tags, awesome art, clean UI. Love it! Agreed that I wish I was making money faster, but it's still great!
The gameplay reminded me a little too much of real life though...
Ahah thanks for the feedback. Hopefully we managed to capture the essence of being a game developer... minus the making money part... xD
We had the same train of thought! XD Love how you executed the concept! This game is a great tool for generating ideas! Additional music tracks would be cool to have in this game to listen to:)
Thank you so much for the review. We haven't had time yet to look through the other submissions but we're looking forward to playing through yours as well :D
Loved the look also really enjoy the music while I'm sleuthing for tags. Just wish I got more money quicker throughout the day.
Hey there! Thanks so much for the feedback. We're aware it's a little slow in the beginning and we wanted to add a x2 speed sim option, but ran out of time (same as with the achievement bug fix) : ( .
Glad you loved the art.
Really would have loved to have GameMaker.exe for most of my projects. little slow but really nice art to it and loved the songs
Heyo! Wouldn't we all love to have an app like that xD. Happy to hear you loved the art, and thanks for the review! :D
