Streamed this game tonight, it of course kicked my ass
The audio is great, love the music mixing.
The visuals were striking and blew up my corneas at first, but I love the overall presentation aspect of this one.
It's of course hard as heck. I was finally able to hit some enemies, but didn't see their health change at all, maybe I didn't do it correctly, bug or not implemented.
And finally, the weird little lore going on, it's awesome, keep it up on that aspect!
Edit: just read the comment you made on a different post saying theres a window of opportunity to hit after you stun the enemy, damn I totally missed that. I'll probably give this game another shot someday and see if I can beat an enemy!

So sorry that you missed the "window of opportunity" for attacking, tho! It was in the game's tutorial, but I think the fact that it doesnt reappear when you try again makes it unlikely for someone to fully restart the game and re-read the instructions, and makes it more likely for someone to miss crucial info, like you did :,)
There was supposed to be more story, but I didnt have time to add everything i wanted :(, maybe in a future update.
If you ever play again, you just need to swipe in any directions to attack once the enemy is stunned. It's not very clear on whether the enemy is stunned, or if it managed to stun you, but you'll know you won if you're able to attack quickly during the "quick-time colors inverted" sequence.

Edit: saw your stream and yeah, you were getting it at the end! You were basically perfect for countering Aruna, you were just missing the "attack as much as possible" thing during the bleeding, lol. Also your reaction to the second enemy was hilarious

The game is really hard at the beginning, but once you got it its really more fun ! Visuals and sounds effects are great. Really good submission :)

Love the style, from interesting charming characters to the fun energetic music. It really added to the interesting little timing puzzles of each character. I'm glad you had a downloadable version. I started with the browser version, but was messing up because my mouse was going outside the window. Once I got the hang of it, I was pumped!

Really cool! Took me a while to actually understand how it works, then I almost got first guy down. Gonna give up for now, might try again tomorrow.

Wow, it's a really great game. I like a lot the sound and you can see all the effort put in visual effects. I don't know if it is a bug or my own lack of abilities, but I was never able to parry a forward attack. Besides that I beat the three bosses an loved the game.

As for the issue with the forward attacks, its the first time I've heard of that issue. the only thing I can think of is that, when you would try to attack forward, you would drag a little bit above or under, which the code recognised as an "up" or "down" attack.
The game detects the angle of your mouse drag and uses that info to detect the attack type, so that might be whats causing it.
So it might just be a little quirk of the game, lol.
Excellent visuals and setting. I struggled for a while until it clicked what I was supposed to do. After that, it was an exciting game. The characters and animations are top-notch. Great game. I'm excited to check out your other stuff.

Could not for the life of me defeat any of the enemies. But the concept seems really solid and all the audio and visual effects add to experience. Awesome job!

Tip: saw your gameplay and I noticed that, when a hint would appear, you would attack immediately, which probably led to some confusion. You're supposed to wait a little bit before countering when a hint appears. Also, when the enemy is stunned, you have a limited time to attack, so you had to stop before that timer reached to an end or else the enemy would automatically counter. You did get kinda close to beating the first boss, tho! So some clarity on how everything works wouldve totally helped

The art and animation adds a lot of personality to the game! It's one of the first things that caught my eye.
Game is really difficult and had a lot of trouble getting passed the first boss. I would love to try again with a tuned-down version!

And yeah, as others have said, game's a lil too difficult.. if I ever update the game I'll definitely tweak the difficulty, but keep the original as a "hard" mode
And maybe add some extra content that didnt make it into the jam time!
This game shows a lot of promise it has a lot of good elements, great characters and interesting designs, the sound effects were excellent as well as the use of music.
I really enjoyed the interactions between the characters it really gave it an impactful feeling since some of them were fighting almost reluctantly, really cool detail.
Overall, a great experience!

This game is full of charm with its characters dancing to the rhythm, and the colorful effects are a hit.
That being said, it is a very difficult game, even with the tutorial. I got to kill the first boss after many attempts, but the second one with the fake hints got me. Maybe a slower tutorial/more hearts/less enemy health could help with that. Very cool game nonetheless, I love the style, and had fun playing it. And when you do connect the hits, it's super satisfying.

I think the best solution wouldve been to give more time for the player to counter (at least for the first boss), just to get them used to the flow. However, adding more hearts would be good too, since it gives the players more chances to learn what direction each hint is tied to.
Next time, I probably shouldnt assume that I'm having a hard time because of my own skill issues, lol. But still, glad you enjoyed it despite its hardcore difficulty!!
