Cute graphics and fun combat. But it gets old after a short while killing waves and waves of enemies. Also there's no checkpoint between the waves, so when you die, you start from the first wave which felt very tedious for me. It's basicly a Vampire Survivors-like game but it needs more gameplay mechanics to make the game interesting i believe. All in all, it's a pretty good game. Well done!
You can continue at the start of your current round. You have 3 lives, after that you need to restart at round 1. But you are not alone in missing that, the UI is not very intuitive. There are 2 buttons when you die, the top one lets you continue at your current round, the second one restarts the game.
I do have some plans vampire survivors like upgrades between rounds. But it will be nowhere near Vampire Survivors craziness as I still want the players skill to be the focus.
Adorable art style and engaging combat! The tutorial was helpful. Had some trouble restarting after getting chomped I think 2 were opening at the same time
The gameplay is very polished and fun. I'm glad that you made a tutorial, he teaches the mechanics well. And of course, the characters are so cute.

Thanks for watching the stream today. As I said this is probably in my top 3 favorite games of the jam. Visuals , stylisation and fun factor are a big hit. Cool small details like having the enemy stuck onto your sword. And finally the big one being the AI was really impressive how they moved to avoid your ranged attacks.
I got as far as 7/9 if I remember correctly, let me know if theres any updates I'll definitely check this one out again to try to get to at least the last level or beat it
I got CHOMPED! Cool idea on the sword swinging. The musket was a nice balance to have as well. I just wish I could eat all the fruit on that cart
Cute character designs and just a really well polished game overall. Well done!
I'm sorry. I wanted to like this game. The aesthetics are cute and it works pretty well in liew of what you intend to make with this game. The gameplay isn't something I'd gel with, after 2 rounds and how the controls feel a bit awkward (granted I may have not set the mouse sensitivity right). Beating the different samurais are unique, I'll give you that. But the slashing/parrying could be a bit more forgiving and you could have options for people who aren't into this type of gameplay to get health pickups (unless I wasn't given it until later rounds and I stopped after round 2/9 because I wasn't having fun with it).
I'll be fair and won't rate this at all. This type of gameplay doesn't gel with me and I wasn't a huge 3d hack and slash fan. But I won't discourage the effort and a good number of people seem to really like this game. So being the outlier, I shouldn't really judge others interests.
Very fair, it can't be for everyone. And it appears that you are not the only one having some issues with the parry and camera controls. There is likely some way it can be improved without sacrificing what others liked, we'll see.
Btw, I started playing your game yesterday. I have not rated it yet as i had to head out before I finished it, did not expect it to be that long aha. It's pretty impressive, good thing you have a save system!
THIS IS AMAZING YESSSS
Really fun and cute game! The game is nicely polished out with some interesting mechanics! Though swinging around to parry enemies can get a little nauseating with the camera shaking around. Other than that I had a great time playing! Having different enemy types to face keeps you on your toes.
That was so fun! I really liked the physics aspect of the game, sometimes it was a little finniky but i was having a ton of fun with it, i ended up using the musket a ton specially with those big guys lol they scary. I got to like round 7 where it got pure insanity mode xD I really liked the game!
Very cute artstyle and interesting combat system. Your tutorial was great. Sometimes it was hard for me to block the enemy attacks, although I think, I was blocking the right direction. So I went for a hit and run tactic and always circling around the enemies, but it was not easy to trick the enemy AI, very well designed.
Only made it to level 7, then there were too many enemies for me to handle. The music was really great and energizing. Altogether a very fun, competent and polished entry!
BTW: I love my little soy bottle companion, but could he please not block my shots? ( ̄o ̄)
The player hitbox is slightly bigger than the model. The reason for this I think is a combination of me being lazy and a little worried that blocking would be too easy if i reduced it. Also if the attack hits a character before hitting it's weapon, so in those cases attacks do go through your weapon.
It could also actually be the hit detection not working. I am in some cases manually setting the katans rigidbody rotations, which could mess with its hit detection. Was going to find a better way of doing it but had to prioritize other stuff, did not think it was a problem, but it appears it might be. I'll look into it.
Glad you liked it otherwise :) getting to level 7 is not bad at all!
Very good game! Interesting combat mechanics, easy to understand tutorial. Cute assistant.
Glad you liked it!
