First proper puzzle game I play in SBIG 2020. Simple and effective, thanks for that.

Developer

Thanks! I appreciate the support.

Really like this entry. Kudos

Ooh, this was a really neat puzzle game. I liked that it wasn't impossibly difficult, but did require you to think. I also love the knock-off Mario brothers. They're a nice touch!

Overall, a great game all around. Well done!

Hi Ned! Thanks for organizing the jam. The puzzles could have been harder (or even impossible), but too hard puzzles would have removed all the fun.  There is an idea for a story about the two characters...

Probably the only game of the jam I've played so far that required any real problem solving, so props for that.  Sprites looked appropriately crappy.  The screen is really small  and whenever I pressed the arrow keys, the whole page moved about, obscuring part of the game.  Two excellent SBIG features.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I agree, this game is pretty crappy. Anyway, happy that you found the problem solving rewarding. The puzzles are not super hard in this prototype, but box moving problems like for example Sokoban are by nature super hard (PSPACE-complete).

A very simple, but well-designed puzzle game. It felt like using two parts of my brain at once, which is great!

Nice job!

Developer

Thanks! That's the idea - to use both the left and right hemisphere in the brain :)

I had a good time with this one! I wish there was some sound effects or music though. The lack of a functional full screen setting paired with the arrow keys affecting the browser's page scrolling made for some "So bad its good" chuckles during my playtime! Hopefully the addition of sound effects and fixing the full screen option are things you're considering implementing if you decide to expand on this project after the voting period!

Nice job :D!

Thanks for playing and writing a review! Sorry for not fixing the problem with the browser scrolling.  I did not figure out how to do that :(

I've decided to try using a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year!

What I liked

The concept of the puzzles with two player characters pushing stuff around overall.

What I didn't like

The lack of sound.

Did I think it was so bad it was good?

Not so much. It really came across as an earnest beginner's attempt at building a game, with some innovative gameplay, than a so bad it's good game.

My thoughts on the modifier implementation

Assuming it's unimplemented as no note has been made and no implementation is obvious.

Verdict

It's a good attempt and a neat little game, but not really so bad it's good in my opinion.

If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.

Developer

Great to get feed back! The "So bad it's good" aspect may not be obvious - I agree. Still the game is done in pure Javascript without even using a canvas so I guess that is bad in some sense.

Cool little puzzle game! I don't know if it was just my computer, but I wasn't able to resize the screen so it was very small.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! The window resizing is not currently working...

Like it, nice puzzle..

I don't usually play puzzles, but this is a nice little game.

Developer

Happy you like this little prototype!

Nice little puzzle pusher game. Wasn't bad actually, just nice. Could have been a lot worse in a good way with improper sounds, more annoying controls, and glitchy graphics. Do worse! :)

Developer

Thanks! I thought about adding annoying sound but it didn't seem appropriate. I guess I was wrong :)
