Thank you for your kind words. What can I say? I agree with you 100%. I'm not even sure about the key, too. Probably unnecesary. We spent a lot time doing the initial setup and mood, planning the story, music, voice-over, thinking about mechanics, etc...; and we didn't have enough time to get to the hide-and-seek part of the game. We've learned and a lot and we're happy to continue and finish the demo. We want to explore where the "hide your face" mechanic thing can lead us to. Thanks again for your time.
Thanks for playing the game 😊 I'll take your feedback to discuss further improvement, and I'll check the digonal movement, too,. You can skip the initial dialogue with right-mouse button btw, we didn't say anything cause there are no hints and the initial dialogue contains instructions on how to perform the ritual. Thanks again for taking the time to play. We're glad.
Sure, we added hints on the project page to help people to finish it 😊
- Find blood for the ritual (where would you keep the blood?)
- Find mannequin (where would you store it?)
- Find your way into your daughter's room. Key is easy to find
- Place Mannequin.
- Write your daughter's name on the wall.
- Spill your blood on the mannequin. Have fun!
- Time to play hide-and-seek. Close your eyes (hold spacebar).
I didn't find any server available. Maybe we have to schedule some time in Discord to play a match but I managed to play alone and see the level. First of all, impressive characters and movement. And the lighting effect at tghe beginning, super nice. The trick of flowing through gates as fog is a great idea. I'd like to play a match to see how it goes in multiplayer. Default unreal texture in walls feels cold, maybe you could replace with bushes, a bit darker and you have a complete game. Hope you finish and if you send an invite in DIscord to test, I'll join.
Very smooth movement walking across the miniworld, or megacell :) I think you defined your idea and scope very well for the jam and completed it. I like the flesh-cavern-ish environment and I would like to be able to explore it and fly around it. Maybe jumping from cell to cell. Your game invites to play more levels, planet-cells and enemies. Good job!
I love the start, the volumetric fog lights crossing into the trees. Very nice. I enjoyed shooting with "submachine" crossbow lol Too powerful for the actual enemies in the game. The interior of the castle is very nice. I couldn't finish the last quest "exit the castle" probably because I left to kill all the zombies first, and the it didn't capture the exit. I enjoyed it anyway. I wish I could battle a bit more time Dracula, though. Very good overall.
Thank animatey for playing it. Glad you liked the look and feel, that's where we put more effort for the time given. We've added hints in the page to help users to complete the demo. But I'll add them here, too.

Thanks HappyCapyCoffee 🙏 for the thorough review and effort attempting to play twice to avoid that bug. We've made several full walkthroughs and fixed some bugs. We didn't find that one but we'll replicate your steps to find it. I guess you played the second version, right? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to play. Agreed 100% on the motion blur and UI. This game need the UI to disable/tweak many options. HDRP is heavy and many users will need to adjust a few things.
Most interesting part will be the second, the actual hide-and-seek game 🥳 IT's the actual core of the game, but I'm afraid we got lost a bit on the game introduction and scene setup.
I've read current Karma formulae is "given ratings - received".
It would be nice to have this number (given ratings) in results.json for every submission (and/or karma points).
My goal is to reward participants with points based on numbers of rating they give, as part of a gamification dynamic we've implemented in our Discord server.
