This was great! One of my favourites from the jam. I loved the art, sound, music and dialogue. A riveting adventure with many a plot twist. Is there more than one ending?

If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
Totally superficially with the absolute bare minimum of creative thought.

Well this is the last game I played, but most certainly not the least! (Or you could say it *was* the least, depending on how you look at it!). This was one of the best executed RPG games I've seen from a SBIGJam entry. It never outstays it's welcome, and is full of enough twists and turns that I was constantly engaged. Have to admit, this is one of the strongest contenders I've seen this jam. Well done!
I liked your "hero". It has some personality :) I'm not a big fan of RPGs. I've played very few in my life, so my opinion is not of great value here, sorry. If I had to say something, the spawn rate of enemies when you're walking out is too high for me. But I understand it's part of the genre. Thanks
Very inspiring! Now I want to make an adventure game myself. How hard can it be?
It's funny, and not too frustrating. I also like how previous areas are always set on fire, just because. Good Job!
Was a fun, campy bad rpg, which is what you were going for!
Nice job!
I've decided to try using a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year!
What I liked
It's a big adventure! This is a game with some substance to it; it took me over half an hour to beat it.
The fact that the storyline is weird and half-broken. The dialogue is hilarious.
At a core it's actually a fairly well balanced RPG and is fun to play.
It's totally committed to its style and tone. As far as I can tell, this is RPG Maker MV, but every graphic and every bit of text has been made janky and weird. I think this is really what elevates it in my mind, not just that it's bad but that it's totally bad.
What I didn't like
The game is pretty much entirely linear- bridges are literally burned behind you.
Some sections were overly tedious.
Did I think it was so bad it was good?
Oh, absolutely one hundred percent yes.
My thoughts on the modifier implementation
While it's superficial, it's different than the obvious "make it unwinnable" or "make it super hard" interpretations so it deserves some points for that.
Verdict
One of my favourites in the jam. In addition to being so bad it's good, it has the substance and staying power that some of the other entries don't.
If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.
I really enjoyed this piece of interactive media.
This game is incredibely charming. The music, the sound effects and the visuals just bring me joy.
You put a lot of heart and imagination into your little creation and I absolutely love the results.
My favourite part about this game is the writing. It's purposufely bad, dumb, but i found it hilarious.
I'm not into RPGs that much, so the gameplay seemed like a standard oldschool rpg to me. I'm sure that if I was more invested into this genre, I would see the bigger picture.
didn't finish the game, but its better than 90% of rpgm game on the market LOL
Loved this game! The dialogue is hilarious and the goofy art pulls everything together. Perfectly fits the 'so bad it's good' theme!
It's crazy how you made all of this work in such a short amount of time with Unity. You are a true master and I bow before you. With that said, I loved the game, I got some old school Final Fantasy vibes, especially with the way everything was structured, like the double shops in a single building. Top notch!
Thank you, you're very kind but it was actually made with RPG Maker -- literally nothing masterly about it. The only coding I did for this was a few lines of javascript. Just spent the week doing scripting, graphics and sound. Maybe next year I'll build a full RPG engine in Unity in a week. ...maybe
Not my type of game, but I enjoy to play it.. good job
