Oh my gosh this game is so so so so so so so so good! The way in which the game plays like a day in the life, trying to fit in, it's v relatable. This game actually tells a story, and not in the way that most games normally do. This is special, and definitely one of the SBIGJam games I'll remember in years to come.

SPOILERS: Idk why itch doesn't have spoiler tags 😑 Ceasar shift of 1 ahead:

Overall, this game is something else. I can't sing it's praises enough. Such a finely packaged narrative and gameplay experience is not usually seen in SBIGJam. I haven't even mentioned the lovely music, the beautiful art and backdrops, and the sheer variety of minigames! This is a stellar entry! Well done!

Like a life sim version of Wario Ware. I love the fact that the duck is made of a Tin Can when you drop him. Music is cutesy and very chill. Love this game to bits! I NEED MORE OF IT! Make it into a full game for me. Please?

Overall, not sure how to feel about this game.

There has been genuine effort put into producing a somewhat cohesive art style, an intentionally scuffed system for moving the duck around, a story, and variety in the things that the player is presented with.

But overall, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about the game.

It feels like it’s genuinely trying to tell a story about a duck, not entirely fitting in with the rest of the world, eventually trying and failing to pretend to be someone else in a desperate attempt to find any sort of connection in the world, before falling into a pit of despair and then potentially finding peace with himself after being stuck in a state of despair for a somewhat long time.

However, this does feel a bit lost in translation, when considering everything else about the game. It’s like the game doesn’t know if it wants to be taken seriously or not. I’d say that the main culprit here is the ‘drop the duck in the location’ stuff that punctuate this game. If it wasn’t for those bits (either being replaced with a less intentionally-awkward movement system, or omitted entirely and replaced by cutscenes, instead of the current system which just feels like it’s only been included to meet a quota of ‘SBIG’), I feel that the game would deliver a properly cohesive experience, and might help the artistic intent to shine through more.

But, as it stands, it feels like the game is having a bit of an identity crisis, hiding the somewhat serious narrative about a green duck’s mid/quarter-life crisis under a thin blue coat of ‘mandatory SBIG’ paint, if you get my drift.

Graphics are super cool here and the level selection is neat, but like Fistmaker, we got stuck with a soapy duck pretty quickly. No idea how to progress from there.

Thank you for the feedback! You have to get a certain amount of bubbles on the duck, then the shower will become availabe. I guess the problem has to do with colliders and resolution, maybe even the browser itself.

I guess that you might need to refactor the ‘putting soap on the duck’ logic.

So, instead of having soap bubbles on the duck be the deciding factor, maybe have a ‘soapiness’ value which slowly gets increased as the player rubs the duck with the soap, and then have the bubbles spawn in when the ‘soapiness’ value gets increased (and if the bubbles are meant to block the soap so the player has to properly cover the entire duck in soap, maybe just tone down their impact to, say, add half as much soapiness than normal instead of 0 soapiness).

Should help to avoid any further bubble-based chicanery

yeah sounds much more transparent :) Thanks for the advice!

Thank you everyone for the feedback <3! I'm happy to hear that you liked it. Some gameplay aspects were intetioanlly misleading, but I'll fix some minigames which you found hard to play later!

I wasn't expecting to find such a heartwarming game here. This is adorable, I  got the two main endings and I absolutely loved it. And I love the gameplay variety. Only thing is that I didn't really understand the eating mini game, but that might be just me. Great job!

This is a weird little game. The controls was a bit funky, but else a pretty fun little game.

It's like Wario Ware, and similar titles. Graphically pleasing and the music fit the presentation. I enjoyed the eating game, especially when it gets frantic at the end. I wonder if this was tested at all? I couldn't get most of the other games to work. I ended up with a soapy duck that wouldn't jump in the shower...

At first, I was like, wow, this is super cute and nice, this isn't a so bad it's good game at all. And, to be honest, I still think in terms of graphics, sound, and overall presentation, this isn't a so bad it's good game.

When I played the game the goodbad weirdness started to become apparent. There's a sort of level select screen with pictures used as textures, where you drop the duck like a can into a box to select the level. That's certainly strange.

I went into the bathroom. I sprayed some water. It did nothing. I soaped up the duck and tried to rinse it off. That didn't work. Sorry, duck.

I went into the kitchen. It's an eating minigame, almost like a rhythm game. Some foods give you points, some take it away. I have no idea which ones do which or why.

I went into the bedroom. It kicked me to the main menu.

I went to the exit. It loaded the selection screen again.

There is definitely more to this game than meets the eye. I didn't get that far, but I'm sure there are surprises in store for those that do.
