Hey, great job with your game. It's funny, straight to point about the gameplay and polished. I've some considerations, maybe you could reduce the collision boxes of player and enemies, increase the speed of enemies and add some variation of them in future improvements. About the sfx of bats, you need to reduce the volume of it LOL. Nice game!

May you rate my game too?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I agree, I needed more playtesting to get the pace of the game right. And of course I'll rate your game!

The sound effects are a little piercing (but the background music is great), and this game could definetely do with a little more variation, but I can see from what's implemented that you've polished it nicely and it's still pretty fun and challenging as is.

A rate in return would be very appreciated!

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm definitely gonna put a volume slider in my next game. And of course I'll check your game out!

Might be an unpopular opinion, reading a few of the comments, but I didn't like the music+audio much. It was too loud, with no way of reducing the volume. The audio of the bats constantly playing their churping or whatever noices felt really annoying. Gameplay wise, I felt the game started at an okay pace, but it didn't really speed up fast enough. Felt too slow, and if the speed did increase, I didn't really realize it. The hitboxes were also not correct when jumping near the bats at the bottom, would always end up colliding even when I was a good enough distance away.

Developer

Thanks! I'll be sure to put a volume slider in my next game. I also agree I needed more playtesting to work out the pace of the game.

It gets boring after a while and the controls don't always responsive but I love the music

Thank you!

Controls could be a bit more responsive, but good job!

Developer(+1)

I'll keep that in mind in my next project, thanks!

Cool game I like how you have to time your jumps and especially the slide… do it too soon and Bam!

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you!

Cute spin on the simple runner format, with lovingly handcrafted art for that extra charm.

You might consider expanding on the gameplay with right-arrow to dash through debris piles, and left-arrow to deploy a shield against oncoming lasers (or some variation thereof, but there's on opportunity to expand on controls).

Good fun and a great start. Fine work, and good luck! :D

Developer

Thank you, I really focused on making the art assets! More obstacles and more controls would definitely improve the gameplay.

Love the art! The bats especially. I like the music, but the running SFX seemed to take priority and mute it out which was a little annoying.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! Audio is definitely my weakest area so that's something I need to work on in my next project!

Pixel Art is awesome! I made use of the sound effects to time my jumps or slide! I think that this was a really good idea! :D

Developer

Thanks! I really wanted to challenge myself to make all the art!

Really nice pixel art! I love the palette. Music is awesome, but its a little annoying hearing it restart every time you start playing. It's a cute game and enjoyable to play.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it!
