NOM NOM NOM! Really nice game, really chill
Yeahhh, thank youuu ! :-D
Very cool !
Glad you liked it ! What's your best score ?
118 :'( . I keep trying ahah
Ehhh, that's not bad ! I did a 65 run recently đ
Really nice game and use of theme, the art are really nice and the art looks good.
Good job!
Ohhh, thanks for the feedback ! The art is very simple but, I think, pretty cute !
I couldn't stop myself from adding some blood when the T-rex finds some delicious dino-meat.
Fun gameloop, neat visuals, funny soudns . Overall nice game ^_^
Ahhh, I'm glad you liked the sound ! It's the very first time I use sounds and music in a game and, well, it could be better but it's not absolutely worthless.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll do even better sounds next time !
Relaxing and satisfying game. I'm sad to see my dinosaurs dying out with every run.
Yeah... you eventually end up dead. That's what happened to dinosaurs and will happen to us humans too, I guess.
The challenge is of course to keep them alive as long as possible. So, what's you score ? đ
I can't remember, other players are too strong, so I don't see myself on the leaderboard. I think it was between 100 and 150.
That's honestly pretty good ! GG !
What a lovely game! I love games with ecosystem simulations! Also, it was really pleasant to watch the growth of my baby dinosaurs army. Really good work!
I spent many hours trying to balance the game. It was hard to make the game not too hard, not too easy, not too long, not too short and somewhat realistic. Eventually, I'm satisfied things run out smoothly and at some point there's a big army (that is genuinely difficult to keep alive). Thank you!
I think it's great I got very far, the theme of evolution is well used
At first I had no idea how to approach this theme... then I took it quite literally. Evolution... of course, there must be some creatures living their own life. But that's not a game, right? Then I thought of the mutation cards and I started programming Saturday morning. Glad you liked the usage of the theme!
I love that nomming sound effect. It was very satisfying to see the little dinos run around!
Hahaha, the nomming effect is... my very mouth trying to immitate a hungry creature ! I'm glad that you liked it !
When the game started to work pretty well, I suddenly stopped developing and played like one hour straight before remembering I had still many things to code. I understand why you found it satisfying to see the dinosaurs run around, I felt the same!
Right on theme! I really enjoyed the game loop; watching the simulation unfold after each decision. I seemed to be doing quite well but then I realised there were too many old dinosaurs and they suddenly died out... I felt bad but that's evolution I suppose ;) I will try another approach. Very playable with appealing art style. Well done!
Ohhh, thank you for all that positivity! It's really pleasant to hear someone liked my game. And as it looks, you're not the only one. It makes me proud to have build a successful game in my first game jam.
I'll definitely participate to another very soon !
You'll discover their are many viable builds but I myself am unable to discover what's the best build. There are guys in the high scores that have 2x my points, haha !
I loved the sprites and it was a lot of fun seeing all the dinos run around when I had a strong population! I think the music choice could've been better though. The main song was fine (though it didn't sell me personally on the theme of the game) but music on the card select screen was rather jarring so I had to mute it after a while. Otherwise, it was a pretty good jam entry, congrats!
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, the music was made too quickly. I'd prefer a longer song but I lacked time to make something better. I'll do better next time!
This was charming! I had a lot of fun. I thought I was doing amazingly and then suddenly the numbers started to dwindle. I felt so sad watching my last dinosaur wander around đ . There was a lot of variety in the evolutions which i really liked. It took me a little bit to realise the T-rex was eating my dinosaurs!
nice work, great job đ
Ohhh, that is so pleasant to read ! I really appreciate your comment and I'm proud that you had a great time playing my game.
Yeah, the T-rex is the little unexpected twist that can create tears or laughs, haha ! I hope you'll try to beat your previous score later today.
Wow this is really cool, I love the vampire survivors upgrade style, cool concept and executed well, reminds me of Primers evolution videos on youtube, this is such a cool spin on simulation I would love to see more of this game
Oh, thank you for your comment. It's so pleasant to read that someone liked my game. I never played Vampire Survivors but I can easily imagine another game with such like upgrades.
You're not the first one who tells me about Primers evolution videos on Youtube. I definitely have to check it out !
What would you love to see integrated to the game ? Do you have precise ideas in mind ?
for sure! they're really interesting and fun to watch, Honestly it's pretty good as it is, though I would definitely add different dinosaurs, and rather than a single t-rex that moves around maybe a warning sign could pop up like !Predators incoming! and a trex could rampage across the screen and leave, or maybe a pack of velociraptors bounce around the screen before dissappearing
Ohhh, those are great ideas ! I'll add them to my list. Thanks a lot !!!
I think it would be nice to have some more options to save the little dinosaurs from running into the rex. maybe every now and then you can click one to change their trajectory?
Besides that you got an impressive simulation going on here! :)
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I'll take notes of your idea. Being able to move the dinosaurs to avoid the T-rex can indeed be a fun gameplay addition after the jam!
The game is a bit confusing, but I think it matches the theme perfectly!
Hey, thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.
Maybe the explanations on the page should be written better? Don't hesitate to describe the confusing parts so I can try yo work on that after the jam.
