This is a fine idea, with file aesthetic, that would benefit from more development time. There are some bugs (you can run on water, icons do not disappear when you find them, mouse iv very sensitive), that, given more time, would be fixed.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yea, it needs more time in the oven =p

Loved the art style for the game! Game mechanism is also great! Enjoy your game! Cheers

Thank you for playing!

The game looks very nice! I think it also controls well for the most part!... Well, I feel like the sensitivity is really high, at least for me, I wish I had an option to change it but I know you guys were limited on time. But this game feels nice to play and I think 3d platformers are really hard to tune right. So good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah, sensitivity control is one of the may many features that just didn’t make it.

Damn I'm such a sucker for mellow 3d platformer collectable games! Thats a tough one to bite off for such a short game jam. I was able to get all the animals except the last one, which I'm guess is the goat as the description says thats impossible to reach.

  • You art is on point
  • I think you might want to speed the jump up a bit, something there needs tuning
  • I love the idea of running around and collecting animals. Thats super fun, but I think having lots of other animals scattered around to make the level feel more alive
  • Overall impressive to tackle a 3D platformer for this jam! Good job man! Love it!

I appreciate that feedback. I will play with speeding up jump a little. Others have suggested I add a little bit of air control.

Thank you for playing and for some good feedback =D

Jumping in games is so hard to tune. I feel like you could waste the whole jam getting the jump to feel good and work in the game lol.

Did you use a collision box or ray tracing for ground detect?

Developer

I use two raycasts. One for IsGrounded and a longer one for IsOnSlopedGround. I don’t let the player have control on sloped because I want the player to slide down any slopes. They can still jump on sloped ground, but they can’t really scramble up it.

I am going to add a “IsOnSlightlySlopedGround” for the beach and just make the player a little slower.

Cool idea! Love the art and atmosphere. However, definitely needs a bit more polish on the gameplay mechanics: less mouse sens, walking speed is too slow to be useful for anything, and some air control would help a lot. It's very fun to bounce off of the bear badge and go flying though! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I thought about air control but wanted the player to really think about their jumps. I may play with that. Regarding walking, you are right about that. I will just make run default.

There is just something about those kinda retro ps2 style games which have a platformer in them. It was so addicting trying to complete the platformer as it was frustrating when you fell all the way down again. I really enjoyed my time playing.

Developer

Awesome! Thanks for playing!

Lovely art,  good spin on the theme. Would love to see some more polish to see how this game would turn out

Developer

Thank you for playing! Working on that now =D

I liked your game, assets and idea! I would prefer less sensitivity in mouse movement. Also it needs some bug fixes (I got stuck into the plank by the river and couldn't get out) but I understand that this was due to the limited time available for this jam.

Thanks for playing!
