The game seems super fun to me. Visually, it's quite striking (although sometimes it's a bit hard for me to read with the distortion effect on the words), but otherwise, it's a great game. I'm not sure if it was a glitch on my computer, but I didn't hear any sound during the game (if it really doesn't have sound, I think it would be an opportunity to exponentially improve it). Besides that, I loved the experience, and you can tell all the effort you've put into it. Keep it up!
yep. There is no sound unfortunately. I didn't have time to make it(
I understand, I didn't have time to add sounds either x'D
A lot of fun! I love the abstract art style for this game, and the effects, and the UI too. It has a very cohesive look. In graphic design they call that unity (I think). This game is super polished too. It has a nice variety of enemy types, and a variety of power ups. I think I have two criticisms for this game, but they might be good. I kept spamming the shift button at the beginning of each run because I found it more comfortable to play with the camera zoomed out; I might be the only one, but I kinda think that the camera should start in the zoomed-out position. I also would be in a hurry to jump back into a new run, and I felt like this game would benefit from how Hotline, or Celeste let you jump back in instantly.
That's a very detailed feedback! I agree, the camera should start zoomed out, many people said that as well. And I also agree about the insta-respawn. Thanks!
Very beautiful and addictive game! At first it was a bit difficult, but after 4-5 attempts it starts to get better. Good job!
Really liked the game but the only thing i would have to comment is that it took quite a bit to get used to it and actually get good at it which i feel it slightly demotivates the player. A great game nonetheless, Great job!!!
this game is super hard lol - also u can tone down the post processing effects lol ik that they add an extra pop but like seasoning they are amazing in some amounts and overwhelming in extra amounts lol (specifically the chromatic aberration)
other than those tho the game is good :)
i cant tell if the aiming lerps or the cursor position didnt account for cam smoothing, but it felt like it wasn't shooting towards my mouse unless i stopped moving alot, but the graphics are nice, remind me of dani's old games or windowkill, same with the juice
Yeah, well the shooting is just implemented with physics, and I decided to make a "feature" from it) Glad you liked the graphics
I really loved the concept of the game, the only problem is that the melee ennemies are a bit too fast, and the fire rate is slow, i didnt manage to kill even one ennemy :')) but the randomize mutation and the "gambling" aspect of it is really good
Thanks! I am crazy about gambling)
ok way too hard this game would have benifited by having more than one hp. good game overall though
Very cool game and visuals. I would have removed the chromatic aberration from the texts, though. It is also super hard. I could never get more than 30 points. First wave kills me in secs :(
Sad to hear it. There are pretty interesting enemies after the first wave. I wanted to remove the effect from text, but it was sort of out of picture
Really cool mutation system. We wanted to do something just like that for Chronicles of Grib but we ran out of time.
Thanks!
Nice game is realy fun to play ,l idk if is a bug but there are no music or sounds, art syle are incredible, is so clean and great. Good job
Yeah, there is no sound actually. Didn't have time to do it(
Really cool chromatic effects! but I'd reduce it like 30-40%. It kind of gave me a headache reading some of the text. It's a lot more pleasing during actual gameplay though, and I really enjoy how it feels like an old school vector display
Jumping into the game, I'm not sure why you would ever want to play zoomed in and why that's the default view. I was getting frustrated from that until I remembered there's a zoom button! That helped a lot, and I got a little further but this game is HARD! One hit and you're dead.
Really interesting visuals and post-processing, well done variety in enemies and upgrades. Overall very cool but difficult game! Nice work
Yeah, about the zoom. I think there is an ability that depending on the gene you paste can either increase the zoom or make it even smaller then the default one) The game is indeed hard, maybe it is just a personal preference of me... Will reconsider it. Thanks for detailed responce tho!
Nice game! I love all of the effects.
Nice and fun game. Starts off a bit too fast i think, but good gameplay loop! nice job
Glad you liked it)
very good game, the visuals were great and i loved that the enemies were different. the partciles also were very smooth, good job!
Yeah, the enemies were hard to do. Thanks!
Cool game
That's nice! You should add a feature of hold space or mouse click to shoot, so the player doesn't have to press it repeatedly. That makes your hand hurt after some time!
Makes sence. Thanks!
Nice game! I think having a single life is a bit too harsh especially early on
Might be(
Cool game and I like the concept a lot, the genes are really interesting but I think I would need to invest a lot more time into the game to understand fully how they work. Like others said I think the chromatic aberration is too high, but I can see what you're going for with the effect. I liked it a lot and I think it has a lot of potential if fleshed out more, I really like the idea of the genes.
Yep. I plan on adding multiplayer and more level/enemies variety. Talking about genes, probably should add detailed explanation for each one.
The chromatic aberration is a touch excessive, and while all of the genes having their own unique effects to each element is a neat idea, to the player, it ends up just being effectively random. Cool game though, had some fun with it! Solid entry to the jam!
Ye, I get what you're saying. I will add a text that appears after you place gene, saying what exactly happened.
