Really solid submission, only thing I would change is the UI, it felt a little bit in your face at time, other than that great job!

Neat game! The mutations didn't feel like they did much, and the UI felt a bit obstructive/claustrophobic and unclear, but the concept is really cool, and I had a really fun time playing! Solid entry!

Pretty good! Just needs polish in my opinion. This game seems like it is going in a good direction with or without my criticism, but I'm not sure what the goal is supposed to be, so wandering around the rooms could feel monotonous after a while.

Great work. I love the art.

Wow, that really is enjoable. The style is very cozy. Kudos to your artist! The reload is too slow tho, maybe decrease it?

Developer(+1)

yeah playing it more i relize that reload for every weapon could've been halved, but thanks I actually made all of the art myself and seeing just how far ive come in terms of pixel art really makes me proud of myself.

Great game, very impressed with the sheer amount of content here. some things I would tweak is giving the player more feedback whenever they shoot an enemy, or get hit, etc. and I still don't know what half the mutations did so communicating that better would've been nice as well. I'm REALLY impressed you managed to make a fun roguelike in 3 days though, and the idea of being able to permanently keep a mutation kept me playing for a long time hoping for walk through walls, and wall piecing bullets. overall great job!

Developer

yeah, i really shouldve added camera shake to the game, its one of those things where i always forget just how much a bit of camera shake adds to game feel, and yeah the mutations where not clear but i felt like adding menus to explain each one would've gotten overwhelming so all you really get are names in the description

thanks for the feedback

This game is so cool, the idea, the art style , gameplay. very nice job

Developer

thank you so much

Damn, I am really impressed with this game, you managed to
- Create a roguelike
- Create 10 different mutations
- Create the game with a 1-bit color palette
- Create at least 5 different weapons

One thing I can think of improving is difficulty scaling. I find the enemies are really fast and unmanageable if you have the wrong weapon with you, other times enemies get stuck and you may have an assault rifle with you (if you find one at the start there is pretty much no reason to get another weapon at all).

Developer(+1)

thats really fair advice, the enemies are definitely to fast, and this is after i already slowed them down by 20% after the person i had play test said that they were too fast. I also forgot that making guns realistic means that which ever one shoots the fastest is generally the best one so like whoops. i was originally planning on having enemies with differnent amounts of health which wouldve made it more balanced but i forgot lol.

Very large pixels, I had to move back to read what was written in the main menu.

The shotgun shoots completely unpredictably, in some rooms it spun around for a minute to cause damage to enemies, due to the fact that we are shooting from the sides

I liked it so much, nice little game

Developer(+1)

probably couldve made the shotgun shoot more bullets lol and thx for the feedback

There is a ton of content in this game!

DID YOU CODE A MINIMAP INTO YOUR GAME-- HOLY?!

Wow, you clearly have a lot of talent for quick creation and prototyping. This game has a lot of content and a lot of different systems. Personally, I think that half of the content you have would still be plenty. You could then use that extra time working towards things that your game is lacking in, namely...

Player satisfaction. There's not enough of it in this game to feel good. Getting an item is quick and snappy, but none of the items feel particularly powerful. Instead of adding more content, focus on fine-tuning the content you have and making it feel better. A flash when an enemy is hit or a bit of camera shake when a player shoots would go a long way.

Great game that with a bit of polish would really shine.

Developer(+1)

yeah, since i switched to godot i lost alot of the game feel elements i had created when i was using unity and because of the fact i used to be able to just copy and past the, camera shake for example, into the game i kinda forgot how important those things were for game feel i should probably make the template scripts for those in godot so i can use them a lot easier during game jams but thanks for the feedback :)

Cool game

Developer

thanks

Cool idea and neat artstyle, but the game really needs a rebalance cause i got more weapon rooms than i got combat rooms.

Developer(+1)

the weapon rooms decrease as you go further down in floors, the first floor is almost all weapon floors but by floor 5 weapon rooms can no longer appear but yeah probably should've made them appear less to begin with lol :)

Woah so much guns, and very hype game music, pretty cool you implemented random rooms, but the enemy doesnt see the walls infront of them, also got 640 score so pretty col, idk if the leaderboard is online but I got the highest score so Im happy lol

Developer

thanks this was the first time i made music for a game jam during the jam and im really happy with how it came out. I never really know how to implement AI lol but i probablly couldve at least done  raycast to see if there was something in the way

also no the leaderboard isnt online lol i was trying to decide the entire time if i should implement lootlocker and decided against it cause it seemed confusing for godot lol

Submitted

game play is snappy and fun, the music is a little annoying after a while

when you do the mutation thing, I don't know what the options do, the only one I'm sure of was max health

overall a very fun experience

Developer

thanks

and yeah i realized after implementing them that they mutations were often not identifiable when using them - i probably should've made them visible and less ones like increase move speed or slow enemies the room.
