A lot of things to explore! The largest game I have played yet. Your sound design was EXCELLENT! I felt like I had flies flying around me! The story isn't that clear (mainly because I didn't read the note in the wagon. I didn't realize there was a note in the wagon, or the gun). I kept finding bullets but no gun! It wasn't till I died and started over that I understood more of what to do. Over all pretty good game!
Really good PS1 era style. Very large map. Had a eerie feel and the notes were good breadcrumbs for the story. Accidentally made it to the edge of the map once and also got trapped by the generator in the mining shed due to some colliders allowing me in places I shouldn't have been allowed. All in all very impressive work for a 10 day Game Jam
I think for sure the selling point was the atmosphere , even though its very used i still liked the monsters passing through the cave end . also nice monsters very nice ps1 style , i would recomend putting the pistol somewhere else only notice it after 2 deaths so was just running from the dog / fox all the time
I thought I had to go the way I was facing to leave the carriage. I ended up running of the edge of the map.
It took me a death or two to realize there was a pistol in the starting carriage, whoops. At the moment I can't seem to find anything to clean the machine and keep dying due to low terrain. Definitely a neat experience though, good use of ambient sound and fantastic environment/enemy design.
Thanks for playing! There are definitely some issues we're now noticing about proper communication to players, it's definitely something we'd like to address post-jam!
If you don't mind, could you elaborate on "kept dying due to low terrain"? I would like to fix that when I get the chance, because that seems like a pretty sizable issue.
Ah, yeah sorry, problem occurs in the third major area (with the mining apparatus), if you take a right from the pond shore (and the crashed cart / horse / enemy there). It looks like there should be a passable crossing to somewhere else, but trying to get there results in game over. I thought I was getting instakilled because I was accidentally stepping below the waterline but thinking now it was probably some other out-of-bounds thing.
Right. Thanks for letting us know! Someone else had that issue as well, and we just think a kill volume got moved out of place and was just never noticed by either of us. That's definitely high on the list of fixes post-jam.
