I loved the atmosphere, the submarine was such a great setting, a little more engagement while fixing things would have made it more fun, overall great entry.
I loved the visuals and the little conversations in the beginning. After finding the shipwreck the submarine kept breaking down every second, it destroyed my enjoyment for the game. After reparing it 12 times it ask me to reach the surface and so I did and the game ended.
Was there a monster or did I miss it ?
After a lot of varying volumes in these submissions I had mine pretty low and didn't realised my ship was being damaged so I died. The volume was on me but I thought It could be cool to have a warning light go off or something.
The game looks super great and the submarine thing is a neat idea. It makes me think of this other game made during the jam: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2023/rate/2330413
I think what you can learn from it is it has 3 different minigames for each problem that can happen. Gameplay wise, leaks, pipe leaks and fuse box breaking are no different and it can feel a bit repetitive. I find that pressing E and waiting for a bar to fill up is no big gameplay moment.
Now that being said, you accomplished a lot for a one person jam and everything works real good together! Actually well done!
Love how this game looks. I was going to comment on how the leaks were wayyy too frequent but saw you said fixing the sub was the main point lol. Initially thought I had to look at a specific thing or trigger a monster encounter. Still, great job putting this together!
I enjoyed the PSX look of the game. That sub is a mechanic's nightmare!
Really like the atmosphere and the shipwreck! Is there any way to actually finish it? I ended up floating around for a good 20 minutes, but things stopped happening and I never got to see the creature I was looking for
Thank You! You should be able to beat the game, after you repair enough of damages made to the sub, Joe should tell you to go to the surface, and then you 'beat' the game. I should've made that more clear tbh, also I didn't end up having enough time to add in a sea monster which is more of a problem with my time management lol. Thanks for trying my game out, and sorry about the issues.
