Charming horror-puzzler based around shifting between two maze states, flipping switches to open the way and not going insane. The art is delightful and I love the isometric perspective. Found the backing music to alternate between lovely and terrifying too. There's plenty of polish here that made it a pleasure to explore.

Thanks for submitting Nightmare Artifacts to the jam!

The art and atmosphere was really cool. Loved the fleshy additions around the place. The dimension switching was fantastic and worked well. I'd recommend pausing the insanity meter if there's dialogue on screen as I died during a cutscene, and having some checkpoints after you've done some of the puzzles. Thank you for uploading and sharing!

That is an EXCELLENT point and one that didn't come up as we were testing the game! We thought about checkpoints too, but didn't have time to implement them unfortunately :(

Thank you for your kind feedback friend!

You're very welcome! I COMPLETELY understand having mechanics you didn't get to implement. Hell, I didn't even get to implement background music. XD

Neat idea of switching dimensions!

It was a fun one to work on, not gonna lie! Really enjoyed thinking about two maps at the same time! Thanks for your feedback friend!

Wow, super cool art direction. Visually the game looks amazing. The gameplay was straightforward and easy enough to get to grips with. I didn't finish the game this time but I'd love to come back and give it another playthrough if you release some future builds.

Loveee the music, I had to sit for a minute in the options menu cuz that piece was great. Love the evolution of the soundtrack throughout the game as well.

It did take me a minute to get to grips with the insanity meter, but I actually like how it isn't explained. If you do choose to add explanations it would be cool to keep it subtle as I liked figuring it out.

I would love to hear a scattering of SFX for the levers, monstrosoties, etc.

Really enjoyed the narrative and design for this game, well done!

OMG friend, thank you so much for your kind words! Really lovely feedback and agree, the music is just beautiful T_T thank you for your lovely feedback on the insanity mechanic too! I feel like we could've done better to explain it, but great to hear it worked for you all the same <3

Cool vibe. The art is really nice, and the idea of switching dimensions is interesting. For me it was a bit too challenging (I'm bad at labyrinth games), so I didn't finish it, but I had fun trying.

I didn't understand how sanity level works (I died a couple of times, and after that I just stayed in "yellow" location, switching to "green" only to check additional paths, and in yellow location the sanity level wasn't dropping, but I guess it's not the way it really works; probably I missed some description).

Overall, really nice game!

Hi friend! Yes, nina's art is super nice, and thank you for your lovely words!

We wanted to explain a bit more about how the Sanity mechanic worked, but in the end we didn't manage to add some helper text :( one for a future build for sure!

The way it works is Sanity drops constantly when you switch to the "cursed" dimension (the green one), so that was intended behaviour! It also drops when you get too close to the monstrosities around the labyrinth lol

Glad you enjoyed the bits that you played though! Will check out your game when I can!
