Fantastic character art, great dialogue. Creepy caves! A lot to like about this one, good job!
Nothing beats some relaxing caving.
A well put together game that has a good story and aesthetic
Little bit of existential horror to brighten ones day up, very fun. The story was very interesting, the ambiguity added a lot to it I think, but personally I liked it at its best just before the end you just racing to the end. But yes, the caves were nicely done, while they were super empty and barren, just the branching and shape of them made them feel real enough to have that sense of exploration and at times lost. There were also good amount of tiny details here and there, which added a lot, the sounds of the cave, ambience lights in the cave, and how the character sprites standing far away from you changed (like at first I was thinking it's just trick of the rendering, but no, I'm sure they changed, creeped me the hell out in a good way too lmao).
And further more, it was a full package, which I love to see! Great work on this!
Really impressive game and a novel idea. Felt very polished even if the web version did lag a little here and there. One of the more impressive games I’ve seen so far, well done!
To Other Reviewers:
I recommend playing the downloadable windows version.
Now to the Dev time.
Yeah, this one is a 5 accross the board for me. Phenomenal Job to all of you.
I'm impressed on what you managed in a week, the low poly environment + 2D standies pair really well. The gameplay on the rope feels fresh, characters are really well written and the chasm as a theme works on so many levels. I can just repeat myself *chefs kiss*.
As for the only navigation problem i had was on day 5 as my mind was too much on decending so I had to backtrack a bit until I understood that I was meant to go up.
Its genuinely impressive you managed to have an fully explorable cave within the jam's time limit! The story and setting are pretty interesting, sadly I wasn't able to get far since I kept getting lost on the second cave. With some improvements it could be made into a great indie game.
