  • I liked the idea of candy being the priority during a zombie apocalypse. As you mentioned the flashlight is very finicky. Would have loved to see more mechanics with the flashlight. Maybe stun enemies with bright flashes, things like that. Overall a good entry.

I liked the idea here, and with a bit of polish it could be pretty good. I think it would have been nice if there was some sound, and if the map was maybe a little more dynamic. Good submission, and good luck with future jams.

Despite some small hiccups, it’s an enjoyable and well-thought-out game. The biggest problem for me was trying to work out how and why the flashlight would work (or not) at times.

Developer

Completely understand, the flashlight was more of a bug that I just couldn't figure out how to fix in time. I was trying to make it so you can only use it for a few seconds and that using it too long would make it stop working for like 5 seconds and to prevent spamming it I also gave it a 2 second cool down between uses. But the result I got was super unreliable for some reason and didn't seem to match those timings I wanted.

I had a feeling it was something like that and I totally respect your efforts in trying to produce that effect.

Its one of those ideas you get and think "how hard could it possible be?"

Ain't no zombie, dracula, or skelington gonna keep this lil ghost boi from candies.

The art is adorable, good job. :)

Someone get this guy a new flashlight.  Solid premise, couldn't get far though.

Developer

Thanks! Yes definitely needs an entirely new flashlight control script haha

Very creative entry and I like the ideas behind it. Stunning ghosts with light is not only a neat mechanic, but it fits well with the theme. The visuals are nice to look at. The main problems are that the flashlight won't work at times and if it is meant to have a certain amount of uses, it would be good to see how much it can be used. The map also has invisible walls that would just stop my progress out of nowhere. At the beginning, you can walk right off the map to get around enemies.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely needed another couple hours to polish up things like that missing bottom collision wall haha but that's what I get for starting on the third day lol

I'm curious what the invisible walls are you mentioned? There should only be walls on the left and right of the screen and then where the fences are between each house.
