  • As I said on stream, the game is great. This could be polished and made into a full game. Creativity is there. Loved the speed multiplier. Gameplay... nothing bad to say. Theme interpretation is a bit fuzzy for me. No real idea how it fits the theme of fighting the dark. Polish, well its almost perfect. Could use some more feedback on speed and on the walls.

Understood purpose of white hexagons only on 80k score. I can suggest you to increase speed with playtime and add one-shot mechanic to circle bullets (and white hexagons will be useless). Maybe not the best game on this jam because of zero theme use, but great submission.

Great feedback - The bullets should definitely be a one shot. They're at least something you can dodge too. So I'll be using things like lasers and other dodgeable insta-kills.

My interpretation of the theme was to delve (Fight) the darkness. I thought it would be more interesting to face the fear of darkness and to reveal it for what it is, while showing that it's conquerable - than to directly attack darkness with a weapon.

Sometimes Fighting is just to survive.

Hm. Too hard to understand imho. Maybe it could be more clear if something dark was pursuing you (like in Vector 1,2) or obstacles was a darkness and environment was brighter. But i love statement "Sometimes fighting is just to survive", maybe later player will find another way to fight the darkness...

Wow! It's really addictive! Great game!

Glad you like it! :D

I have already seen how the guys from the discord play your game and it was very addictive to look at this gameplay.

Today I decided to play myself, but I have an injury that does not allow me to play at the same time a keyboard and a mouse. And I thought it would be cool to make control only by the mouse or for the gamepad.

I also had a conjecture that you used a oversaturated red color.

And it turned out to be true. I would recommend reducing the saturation  by 20%

Since this can damage the retina of the eyes, if you look at 100% saturated red for a long time

In any case, respect!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll look into your suggestions. It was originally supposed to be a Star Fox-like clone, and I used Mouse instead of Controller / Arrows as a placeholder, and it just stuck.

For your second point with the saturation, I SORTA do that - But you're right, it's definitely not enough and I'll make adjustments.

Very fun! The controls are smooth and very easy to pick up. Moving the ship feels great, and going fast really feels fast. I would appreciate a mouse sensitivity slider. Excellent game!

My PB is just over 99,000

Thanks for trying it! Yeah Options and Mouse Sensitivity definitely on my TODO.

Hell yeah, basically 100k. That's a gamer right there. :o

This is fun! Definitely a "just one more go" type of game.

Developer(+1)

Gotta beat 100k  :D

Ok that was a very neat control system! Very responsive. I could definitely see this being a "bus trip" game with the whole bus trying to beat their highest scores.

Very nice job and well done!

Developer

Thanks for trying it Trumane! I'm currently working on a Leaderboard. :)

I liked the level of control that I had with the ship. It never felt like I couldn't control it and the losses were due to player error. The visuals are really cool and the music was fitting. Very well made game.

Thanks! I'm glad I was able to achieve a feeling of fair difficulty without much frustration, that was my main goal.

This is really addicting, and I love this style of visuals with rail shooter-likes. It's exhilarating, and the map generation stays pretty fresh. A leaderboard would really finish it for me, so that I could compete for the the highscore, but either way, I had a lot of fun, and this could absolutely be expanded. Excellent game!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I'm gonna keep working on it I think. :)
