It was a bit difficult to play until I realized that it is much easier and more enjoyable with a mouse

Interesting concept! But I think there definitely needs to be some kind of 'pressure' on the player; Either more limited control or more limited ricochets or something else to make it easier to lose. Right now it just feels like you're flying around checking boxes.

Still, really cool concept. Good luck if you choose to develop it further.

Very cool idea!!

  • Innovation – Super unique!
  • Fun – A very interesting concept and fun to control, perhaps a time control aspect could be added, like super slow bullet time.
  • Graphics – Very basic, you should totally keep improving it.  You could add speed lines and better blood particles, etc.
  • Audio – Simple and nice.  A low pass filter with more sound effects would really make it feel like bullet time.
  • Polish – Basic now, but you should totally keep working on this, I think it has a really good hook and could sell well!!

Great job completing a full and fun game loop!  Please check out my game if you like Metroidvanias or platformers :D

Thank you so much for the feedback !! I am more of a designer/developer then any kind of artist lol wish could explain the graphics haha. I will try to source some good looking VFX though because I totally agree that it is still missing that ! It's been on my list many times, but keeps getting cut from updates at the last minute xD. Thanks again for playing and the feedback !

Great job on this game! I thought it was a really cool idea and had a ton of fun playing it. This is definitely something I would enjoy playing in my free time. The only piece of feedback I have is that the bullet bouncing off the wall is a bit jarring in the first person, maybe some visual fx could help improve the feeling of ricochet. Overall great game and nice job!

Thank you so much for the kind words !! I completely agree about the ricochet, I've still haven't been able to get it quite right, along with the feeling of power when controlling the bullet as in it just doesn't feel like bullet time. I definitely need to look into adding some visual effects to give it a better feel. Thank you so much for the feedback !!

Came back to play again and I gotta say it's quite amusing. Definitely best played with a mouse; playing with keyboard or gamepad is quite frustrating.

Great job making progress on this game, it looks like you managed your time really well and hit all the major things you wanted to accomplish in your GDD.

The ricochet mechanic is pretty interesting. Is it intentional that the camera rotation changes when you ricochet? Also, it feels like there should be a counter-balancing mechanic. Right now the ability to ricochet makes it very hard to lose. Perhaps you get a limited number of ricochets? Lastly, I think its hilarious you can shoot yourself on accident. I thought the guy in the biker helmet was a boss and didn't realize it was me! hahah

I completely agree ! I've had some trouble properly setting up the different control schemes to be consistent. I've added a sensitivity slider in the settings , hopefully this goes some way in helping.

The camera stays in the same place behind the bullet at all times to the best of my knowledge, but the bullet can move strangely off walls sometimes, I still haven't quite been able to perfect that , Could you explain further what you mean by the camera rotation changes? Hopefully it is something intentional lol

Funnily enough in the PirateJam version, you lost a lot of speed with each ricohet and falling below a certain speed threshold would result in a game over, however it was more fun to bounce around so I loosened the restrictions on this a lot. Based on your feedback, I think I need to find a better middle ground lol. Thank you so much for this valuable feedback !!

That is hilarious !! I thought it would add an extra challenge if you also had to dodge yourself xD

Here's an extreme example of what I meant by the camera rotation: https://imgur.com/a/20s4uNx

I don't know exactly what's causing it, but I can usually reproduce it in the first level by hitting the first guy then aiming at the ceiling.

Ahhhh I see , that is strange haha, I don't think I've seen that happen that drastically before lol. You can roll with "Q" and "E" to straighten out, but I didn't make it obvious as it didn't seem that important to the game, but now I see I should of lol. I might implement a button to steadily reset the rotation of the bullet to 0 if the player wants to flatten out. As while the rotation is likely correct , it looks pretty damn weird upside down lol Thank you for going to the effort of capturing a picture and replying !!

Hey there! Cool game, but just wanted to let you know the Invert Y setting does not seem to work on gamepad, which could be a source of frustration

Thanks for letting me know ! , I'll check it out when I can :D
