I make a lot of randomly generated levels in my games, so the map generation and pathfinding are quite impressive to me! It feels like it comes up with fairly interesting layouts. I also like the grid-based movement and hypnotic hit zones. The art is cute, a large full body view of the main character feels appropriate, and portraits on a grid work quite well for the map. Goo and hypnosis sounds as well as some background music may be a good addition to help set the tone.

The game feels like it's better suited for turn-based planning than real-time action. You could consider adding some limited abilities to help with difficult situations, maybe short-range jumps, or ways to stun enemies. With some goals and rewards for going deeper, this game may get quite addictive!

the game over animation is really cute! i've only made it to floor 4 and then ran into a goo puddle completely by my own error. the dungeon generation seems to take quite a while sometimes. also i've found that using both hands to mash is definitely the strat. def could be quite a cute and fun game if polished and expanded upon

I really love the way you melded the game play into the subject matter by taking control away from the player. I've love to see that expanded on, maybe with some additional style of traps or mechanics that effect the way the character moves when hypnotized.

I did notice that the trigger for getting hit by the lasers happens a couple of frames after the light appears so I found out the speed run strat is to simply mash the arrow keys and you can walk through almost everything before it actually registers the hit.

I don't really understand the strategy to get further down it just seems random if you can find a flight of stairs or not. Could be more fun with updates

Neat concept, I'd love to see a more polished version of the game.
Floors could have some goodies to feel less empty—like a bonus that removes a bit of goo, for example. Having a way to block or attack enemies could also improve the gameplay quite a bit, I think. In any case, the game has potential!

Also, the game-over art is really nice! It’s a shame there’s no music, though.

Oh, and one thing that confused me is that the hypnosis counter is in seconds. Since the game is on a grid, I think it would feel more natural if the counter was based on movement instead. Just my opinion.

An interesting idea. I did find the movement quite clunky. Holding down a direction allows you to move really fast, however I do find it a bit awkward that you move immediately upon holding the direction you want to move, but pause for a not insignificant amount of time before you actually begin moving automatically. This pause happens every time you try to change direction and is when I got caught 99% of the time. The only way I found to avoid this delay is to spam the direction I wanted to move in.

Also I wish I was able to move diagonally.

Other than that, I think this is cool. Maybe require the guards to flash you several times in quick succession before you actually get hypnotised.
Oh, and it does seem a bit brutal that guards can keep hypnotising you while you're hypnotised.
