I like the cute art a lot! the game doesn't like me when I play it tho? it decides randomly that I should lose out of nowhere, and wave 3 has never wanted to say hello. it's got it's fair share of issues  that physically prevent me from playing it, which is a shame cause I'd love to play more! it could also do with a tutorial maybe

really cute but it doesn't want me to play it ):

my rating: 2 gnomes on strike out of 3

The art is definitely pretty cool looking, though it does have some bugs. Besides that, a tutorial would have helped a lot

I love this! imo concept is the most important thing in flowjam and for that Market Gnomes can't be beat. Even though there's a lot of bugs, and a lot of bugs, I can't wait to see this get updated/fixed up post jam.

the art style is great as well, it makes it feel like an old newgrounds game. it's nice to see some non-pixel art games in the jam, I should try something different next time too.

adding on to what sup3r87 said, "and maybe for the stock market to be a popup rather than an entire other section of the game." I actually like the idea of having to look away from the tower defense bit to do the stock market, but I'd recommend doing something like the rulebook we had in low noon saloon that would have an arrow to elastic ease you to the stock market and back. I think that would make it more clear that time is still moving while you're in there and to act fast.

(And idk if this would work in the gameplay but it would be cool if I could buy the bug parts as well so I could say BUY BUY BUY SELL SELL SELL!!!!! )

I honestly loved the use of the stock market as a way to make money from enemies, and I also love the art, the gnome sounds (I got gnomed, damn), and all the alludes to capitalism with the striking and stock market.

However, this game is unfortunately held down by bugs - multiple times I died randomly despite no enemies getting to the end. Which is a shame bc all the gnomes were cute and I wanted to make an assorted collection :(

Aside from that, I wish the gnome shop had descriptions of the gnomes, and maybe for the stock market to be a popup rather than an entire other section of the game.

Cute! I loved the art style choice... though it is a little triggering any time I have to defend a digital garden, as that is a real world sumer war I deal with lol. Good work!

Why can the stock market go into the negatives? That’s such an obvious bug to fix and a lot of the time it makes it so that you lose just due to random chance. The butterflies are also way too fast and there’s no warning that they’ll appear. I think going with a health system like bloons would fit this game way better than just, if 3 bugs or whatever get through, you lose. Theres a serious lack of sfx for a lot of things.

The negative values were just meant to keep players on their toes but there are definitely some bugs with the late-game enemies that need to be worked out. We'll try to go back for as many fixes as we can once the jam is over. Thank you for the feedback!
