Did you credit all assets in-game (including your own) as required by the rules?
How did your team implement the focus, and optionally, the theme?
I have one protagonist and a side character in the story with a clear objective to solve, including conflicts, rising tension, a twist, and resolution.
As for the theme (Make It Fly), I wanted to focus on the journey of flying in a hot-air balloon, and some knowledge of handling one and the challenges before and during the flight.
Here are the four colors I used in this game:
#00303b
#4e494c
#d4984a

Will you continue work on the game after the jam?

Which parts of the game were NOT made by your team? (Including AI generated)

Very cute game, love the drawing and the general sense of good-natured sillines. I like how it captured the mindset of a dog!
It's really sweet of you to base a game on your dog, I appreciated the goofy art a lot too, it's charming.
Thanks!
Wow, I actually really enjoyed this game. Its very short, which isn't a downside I think. The story was given enough time and the dialogue cracked me up, reminds me of my corgi. The ending I got was heartbreaking but I fully understand where you're taking the story and I enjoyed it. Good idea to have a save game mechanic. The music was fun and as always I'm happy there was any. Empty soundtracks can make for an empty game. I'm still wondering where Dum Dum is, but that's the point I think. Also loved the art style btw its very silly.
Overall, very lovely game.
Thank you!
I guess that's what our doggies think about all the time--where's my Dum Dum, especially when we are in different places, across time and space :(
Send my regards to your corgi! :D
This was a really cute game! I love the fun art style, it's so delightfully expressive and charming. The bird flipping us off and the faces of the shiba inu got me cackling lol, and the music was very fitting for the tone and general playfulness of the story...
...which is why the first ending I got really sucker punched me, especially when the music changed to reflect the more sombre tone. It was unexpected, but definitely welcomed, and really sweet in a tragic sort of way. I appreciate that you left it up for interpretation, because it really got me wondering just WHAT happened, which helps the game stick with you despite how short it is. I played it about an hour ago and had to go tend to other things, and I'm still wondering about the shiba and Dum Dum.
My only criticism-- and one others have already pointed out --is that the button for progressing is very small. I also had a hard time finding it initially. I think either making it bigger or changing the colour so it doesn't blend in as much with the background would help immensely.
The "save" option was an excellent idea, though. Especially for a game with multiple choices!
Overall a solid experience and I quite enjoyed it. Please give your little shiba inu a pet on the head for me, and tell her to maybe bark at pigeons instead. They're much more generous with their food LOL
Awwwwww it makes my day to hear that! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
And thanks for the advice, I will definitely let her know XD
PS - Your game is amazing. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
Very cute! I love the sketchy art style; the dogs on the ground cracked me up. I wasn't quite sure what to make of the story. Was Dum-Dum dead? Was he in the form of the crow? I didn't really get it, lol. Still, lovely game with wonderful atmosphere.
Thanks for playing!
It's actually the other way around when I was writing the story. The dog is in the afterlife (hinted by the looping ending and there's not a single human in the world). So basically the dog is waiting for Dum Dum to come to heaven. But your interpretation is also not entirely wrong because that was exactly how I felt when editing the story. I felt it would be nice to leave the Dum Dum's/crow's identity up to people's imagination. <3
The graphics were cute, the story was very simple.
I didn't know the text was selectable at first, but otherwise the game was overall good.
Thank you! I really liked your game as well :D
Cute story, and lovely art! I think the art style is what kept me playing, it was charming and sweet.
The ... was hard to see at first so I didn't know what to do, and sometimes the text would load first and then the image, and the jittering made me feel like I missed a bit of the story, or that the screen moved on without me.
And I didn't really feel like my choices mattered that much in the story. Sometimes I'd choose one thing, and then be given the other choice after, so I just kinda started choosing more at random. I think adding more consequences to all the choices would have made me consider each one more, instead of just clicking.
Nice work though. It fit the theme really well, and the color palette was nice, and again, the art was super sweet.
Thank you for loving the silly drawings I made. I really didn't expect anyone to think the art would be praised XD
For adding more consequences to the choices, that's a very helpful advice. I guess I was trying to scale down the game, but ended up removing some necessary branching moments unintentionally. Will keep this in mind!
love games that gives options and different endings, simple and good.
my only complaint is that I didn't see the '...' or that I have to interact with that, so for a second I didn't now what I was doing.
Really appreciate that!
You're right. I should have made the '...' more obvious.
