I haven't seen anyone use the app to download before. The larger file is the one I uploaded with Butler, and I've had some trouble with Butler. The smaller one is actually a more complete version of the game for some reason.

Just for the safety of my own PC, I only play downloadable games via the app, as it lets me use the sandbox: https://itch.io/docs/itch/using/sandbox.html

This isn't anything against you guys! It's just a policy I have with my own PC to make sure I don't get viruses. I'm happy to play your game and give extensive feedback about that gameplay if I can download it safely.

I played the earlier version and didn't have a chance to comment and rate until now so I won't comment on the deck building since that wasn't implemented for my playthrough!  Overall as a magical girl genre lover I am super excited to see how this continues developing.  The characters and art are great and I love that they're teachers instead of the typical student trope!  I think the crossword concept is very cool as well--though in the version I played I got stuck in the crossword and couldn't get back to the main game so I only played the first quest.  I worry a little that it being an rpg AND crosswords AND deck building might be too much for one game but if you can make all three elements fully cohesive and polished, it will be amazing!  I look forward to playing through the updates soon.  I played this one live on twitch as well so if you want to see my live comments the vod will be up a few more weeks! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1977709368?t=01h39m10s

Thank you so much!

The big blue crystal can take you back to wherever you left, but there was a problem where if you investigate on that screen it sets you there. That has been fixed since then!

My overall thoughts are this is a really cool idea!

Gameplay: I’m quite familiar with navigating the RPG Maker Engine as a player, playing/testing my own projects. I love the Card Battling combat choice! I’d need more experience seeing / playing with that system to give more in-depth thoughts.

The equipment customization looks extensive. I’m personally a fan of more minimalist designs myself, but with a deck builder, I’m guessing you need all those buffs/debuffs.

I see other people have noticed the bugs too, and I see you’ve uploaded a patch. Looking forward to seeing your continued work in this project!

There’s several great puzzle ideas in here, but I’m not entirely sure where they fit in the context of the game.

Story: I have to admit, I was a little lost at times. The Magical Girl genre is one I have little to no experience in, and combining it with a deck builder is something I struggle to wrap my head around. Though, I’m intrigued to see the story wrap up in the completed product.

Presentation: Art looks stellar! Huge props to your artist.

Character sprites are beautiful, enemy sprites are new and unique. Card designs are nice and simple too.

Creativity: I really like what you’re attempting to do, mixing Magical Girl, with Deck Builder, with RPG. It’s ambitious, and I hope it pays off, but it’s a combination that’s definitely never been done before to a very successful effect.

I’d cycle back to the Puzzles in here too. I love the way you push RPG Maker into new directions.

Horror: I… didn’t really get a horror vibe from this game. I don’t really know what the purpose of the Horror category here is. I wouldn’t really expect the Horror Genre in a deck builder and don’t Magical Girl genre stuff tend to be more cutesie than scary? I would expect a game like this to lean on the power fantasy, rather than horror.

Theme: I’d like Itch to have a short description of what they mean by each category. I think all three elements are noticeably present in your game. If it was me, I’d maybe focus on two fo the three, (Magical Girl, Deck Builder, RPG). For example, I’d love to see the best Magical Girl + RPG combo, or RPG Deck Builder. It’s pretty tough to take the RPG out of RPG Maker but it can be done.

I ended up having this error D:  Any idea what went wrong? I had the song before it looping for ages though xD Really nice easy listening :)

Was this the browser or the file download? The browser version is currently having a problem with being too big without Itch's permission

Browser xD  I'll try the download one later!

Sorry about that! I'm getting Butler set up to fix the problem. I really hope you enjoy the game! The download version also has the deck builder combat system which the browser wouldn't have (But, the music is a mood no matter what version you play!)

Thank you!

Don't say sorry!  I had issues with my submission too and it was a race to patch it xD  So I know the feeling haha!

I love the concept of teachers turned magical girls. As an avid magical girl fan I would watch lol! Nice game, I like the sprite illustrations and writing.

Thank you so much for giving it a try! The deck building combat is now available on the download section.

Feel free to follow for more updates to the game! The second adventure will be released soon, and hopefully a third will be out within the next week.
