How did you choose to implement the Theme: Eldritch Abomination in your game?
The game is based on the King in Yellow mythos and incorporates other common Eldrich elements found in Lovecraftian Horror. It features ancient lore and forbidden knowledge that the human mind cannot comprehend.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
1 - The game features a cult and cultist enemies working in the Parisian underworld.

2 - You are a detective investigating said cult, attempting to thwart their plans and work out where they'll pop up next while trying to uncover what their true motives really are...

3 - Depending on how players do in scenarios, both health and sanity can be lost. The Music changes subtly as you grow less and less sane...

This was a really cool experience. I love the atmosphere that was built through the art and sound direction and it had an awesome aesthetic overall. I love the story that's painted here and I'm definitely coming back to experience all of it

I made it to the second act, where I think I hit a bit of a pacing issue. I didn't fail a single roll in the first act but in the second, I couldn't succeed at all, even after buffing at every opportunity. Although this could just be that I wasn't playing smart, I'm unsure.

I love everything about this and would be thrilled to see this as a full release. Keep on making awesome stuff guys.

Ok, this one is getting all 5 stars in all categories from me. This is absolutely perfect all around full game. Reruns suffers from the knowledge you gather from the previous runs. but nothing you can do with it, so I muscle my way through the in the second playthrough💪.

Very cool! I haven't finished playing yet but I noticed an Erich Zann reference which had me smiling

Ty! The Music of Erich Zann is my favourite Lovecraft story, I'm glad I could squeeze in a reference or two! :D

The art and animations are amazing.  Music is excellent.  The whole thing creates a nice 19th century horror atmosphere.

I'm not sure what a Velocipede is?  Is that a French bicycle?

I couldn't see what value my health was at, was that intentional?  Or the other meter, is it sanity?  I could only see how much money I had and the bottom 3 stats.  Also, the cult's influence could have been shown in some numerical way.

There was one section where I thought I had a choice of 2 shops, but they were both the same club (act 2, Le Chat Noir).  That might be a bug.  Another issue occurred with a club in act 2, the card was labelled Deadstock and the 4th option was off screen, so I couldn't read it.  Going to fullscreen mode in chrome didn't help.

It felt like the pace was too fast.  I think I only got into 3 fights and entered 1 shop before I was whisked into a catacomb to face a horror.  I only had one opportunity to upgrade something.

I think it could do with more sound effects.  There were moments where I expected them, but they were absent.

I think the game should have had a screen explaining how to play, at the beginning.  A menu providing basic volume options and ability to restart the game would also have been welcome.

The writing was of a very high calibre.  It was very descriptive, but not over drawn, thankfully.  Just short and sweet with lots of nice details.  Excellent mystery horror narrative. The story really sucked me in and I wanted to finish the game, but unfortunately it ends with a to be continued message.

It's a great start to a horror adventure game.

I love the art style and overall aesthetic! It perfectly complements the Parisian setting.

The change in music as sanity decreases is a really cool touch. Really makes the playthrough feel more dynamic and increases tension.

Wonderful work, can't wait to see more.

Thanks! I did the music so am very happy to see your comment!

We were also planning on having the art on the buildings and cards become more distressed/worn down but sadly ran out of time to implement it.

Bonjour!

This game seriously has the potential to be a "Jeu Magnifique." I hope you guys are going to polish the game a bit more and release it fully. GG!
