It's really easy, but the sheer power you get from about half the cast is INSANE, kind of wish Utsuho was buffed though

This is a fun game, and just like Kiroko commented below, the gameplay is addicting. It's fun to make or simply discover OP pairings. I really like how later stages make enemies immune to certain attacks and then changes their resistances mid-fight, it spices things up and encourages you to make new pairings.

I tried the latest version and just left my score in the leaderboard! Incidentally I discovered that Aya x Eiki (machine gun!) and Mokou x Youmu (sword machine gun!) are really good in the right situations, haha.

Honestly I just created only 1 pair to play the game, confident that if I was good enough I could succeed, little did I knew the game punish you for doing that, and eventually any character could turn immortal, not my proudest 2 runs.

I guess the concept is ok, but it should be pointed that you can create those pairs ingame, not on the pause screen, and if so, at least hint the players into doing that.

However battles are quite fun, except for seija, really hate her and those half inverted controls, many place to experiment and enjoy multiple spell card battles, the lack of sound is an issue, is not that epic and it takes a bit of the fun away.

Animations do their work but I would like there could be a way to teleport myself to the center of the screen when a battle is over, because its a pain in the ass to walk all the way to the top over and over again.

Cool! I got stuck after awhile, but it was fun to mess around with! It’s awesome you got so many characters added to the game for variety.

The only thing is that the sound effects were so loud! It really scared me. Also I’m a little weirded out that you can ship siblings but I guess the game wouldn’t know they’re related. xD

This game is spectacular and addictive. I cant believe how many characters and bullet patterns there are. The sound effects are a bit loud but otherwise this game is perfect for what it is honestly. Very satisfying!! Great work!!

This is for the Jam version, haven't played post-Jam yet: Pretty solid, once I understood the main mechanics it went rather smoothly (except the frame rate, it dropped like concrete shoes in the Sanzu River when my duos of Slash characters just dished out worldwide scratches at the average speed of a shooting star - being super OP is fun, but I really need my PC to stay alive so an upper limit would be good, thanks).

Also did I mention that only 15% of the way through the game you just can't lose? On top of being already OP at this stage of the game, if you do lose a ship you can just rebuild it and you're good to go again.

Lacking challenge aside, it's pretty well made and promising at its core. The shipping mechanic + the team buffs, marvellous ideas! Also, you replicated one signature spell card for each and every enemy! As a Touhou player, that was super fan-servicey!

Pretty crazy. You got so many characters and combinations. I like how quickly everything goes by, as well as how over-the-top some attacks get. There's a lot of stuff here, and you did a good job.

But I wasn't able get too far, because I couldn't figure out how to make new ships. I press tab, select "New Ship", and nothing happens-- using the arrow keys makes a sound like it's moving a cursor, but there's no visible menu, and pressing Z does nothing. Because of this, when getting to an enemy that's immune to the attacks of both my characters, I can't damage them at all and lose my only pair. Is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious here?

In short, 'twas arcade-like in a good way.

Thanks for the review. And oops, that's a bug. I forgot to un-hide the menu UI for the new version so they're just not visible. Fixed now.

This was so chaotic and confusing but I had a good laugh with the craziness and alert messages.

There are so many characters! Unfortunately I kept losing people and got tired but it was fun to play for a bit. Good job!

CRAZY AS HELL

youre kiddin me you put everyone in this game. well. not kotohime. BUT thats a really big cast isnt it

you say in the guide that it would be good to have a team that has more than one attack type but i don't see why that would be necessary. against all tier four opponents you lose half your dps unless you have both people on the sole damage type they are vulnerable to, and it seems like theres no restriction on or penalty for switching teams at any time

not that i needed to use those strats because i came upon "joon + alice"

which is a team with no bomb cooldown. you can just it as fast as you want and shit just goes. combine that with shinmyoumaru + yuyuko

many lasers and not very long cooldown

and you got an undefeatable team. i didn't really have to use many others once i got these

still though very cool game lotta detail in giving everybody slightly different shots and each person their own boss attack

This is one hell of a gem. The gameplay loop is adicting, Im really a fan of the risk v reward of knowing that if you die you have to fight the boss version of your party member to get them back so you have to balance who you want to use with their effectiveness. This is one of the entries Im giving a 5/5, in spite of that there was a bug that I wanted to point out, during marisa's fight her master spark does not clear on player death (it appears a few attacks dont, but...). I had at least 3 runs against her kill 3+ characters because the master spark just lingered so long at spawn with such a large hitbox that I couldnt avoid it. Outside of that, fun as hell and a great use of the idea of pairing off touhou characters. Double thumbs up
