A very interesting story and puzzle orientation.

The story, art and music are all fantastic and well put together. Lots of retrigger-able tiles though, I've got the feeling you're not supposed to have the characters keep commenting about the sad garden or the out of place door. Some of these tiles can even be used to max out Yukari's Boundary again and again.

Also I read there are four endings but only found two of them in spite of all the possibilities I could think of. Endings guide when?

I included this game in a Jam showcase, but it's too long for me to fit an entire playthrough:

cool

Hi!! Thank you very much for your feedback. I watched your video and it was really helpful feedback to us! We're very glad you took the time to play and enjoyed it!!!

[Spoilers Below]

There are 2 parameters the game uses to determine your ending:
If you completed Mary and Renko's Journey by the time you reach the graveyard-looking car, then you will be able to see a cutscene where they leave. This will determine if you can get end 1 or 3, and if you do not complete this then you will get end 2 or 4.

The game also awards points towards Renko or Yuyuko depending on certain actions and dialogue, this will determine wether you get  a Renko (1&2) or Yuyuko (3&4) end. Unfortunately this is less easy to control as the points are pretty randomized (There was supposed to be tied to mroe obvious dialogue choices). Where you sit with Yuyuko in the beginning  will award points (If you sit together in the Love Seat), and also theres an optional  cutcsene in the conductor's car that will  award LOT of points to Yuyuko which is the best way to guarantee you get one of her ends. Unfortunately there's not really an easy way to get Renko's Ends. I think if you keep using the wrong spell card on the Gravestone then you can farm for it. The game was supposed to be bigger and more concise, but de-bugging took longer than expected, so some things had to be cut. There was supposed to be different ways to open the doors. This (And the Jam time limit) is part of why some tiles can be re-activated - so that people can gain Boundary Break Points or Renko/Yuyuko Points in the matter that they couldn't gain them. Especially since the one after that car doesn't give many opportunities for a boundary break despite it being your last chance to complete the Renko and Maribel route, because of timing we weren't able to add much to that car >.<.

Very well put together.  In particular it uses some important, but often unknown lore regarding the connection between these characters.  Then again Renko and Maribel are my favorite couple.

I would like to know how to get the various endings though.  I got the #3 Yuyuko Ending.

Hey! Thank you for playing!!

I replied to the above comment on how to get the different endings, so if you are curious you can check that.

got the Renko ending 1. somehow, I keep getting that or softlocked. usually softlocked, but I love the story

I was softlocked where the next door appears in empty space above the car. That being said, I'm digging the treasure-hunt feel to it. Really gets you thinking.

I keep getting black screen crashes and I'm not sure what's causing them

This game is very cute and has a good concept, I do hope it gets some good bug removal in the future

Developer(+1)

Oof I will look into it. Black screen + crash sounds like an RPG Maker compatibility issue. I'm glad you were able to enjoy what you could play though!

I like the game, but I feel like it's just a tad too easy to get softlocked or walk somewhere you shouldn't, which is unfortunate - especially if some of the endings would happen to require that the player thinks outside the box a bit and go explore (I'm not sure if this is the case, but I'm thinking about similar games). I got the Yuyuko ending, which I'm happy with. I'd like to see the other endings, but I'll wait until a day when I'm less impatient.

Art, writing and the concept are all great, though. I also feel that the scope is good for a jam game, with the game being of a satisfying and replayable length. I just wish the game either prevented or (even better) reacted to the player going somewhat off-script. All in all, a good jam game.

This is a very cool concept and a super unique use of RPG Maker, but I found myself getting confused by the mechanics and eventually got stuck after the "reality break" swap from Maribel and Renko. The writing is pretty good, but it could use some proofreading (though this is a jam game, so it's understandable that the text wouldn't be fully polished). The music and artwork is great, and help elevate this game's presentation. I hope this game gets a bit more streamlined in the future to make it easier to understand.

Thank you! It was difficult to de-bug for an RPG Maker game, because of the mechanices.
The game was designed so that you can get stuck as Maribel and still progress, getting 2 of the 4 endings, Did you get stuck as Yukari? :o  Feel free to DM me with any feedback or detailing how you got stuck.

With this one simple trick she can lock you out of the game. Speedrunners hate her!

Since I don't want to spoiler the story, I'mma insert some blank lines.

It's possible to skip "one room" ahead in Team Yukari, getting Yuyuko to leave before sealing the door between the trains. (It's actually easier to achieve than you think.) Then you can farm for infinite Boundary Break while you're at it with no means of lowering it. Alternatively, you can really seal your fate by following Yuyuko to the graves.

i thought that was a softlock
