Marvellous game! It went beyond my expectations!
I just love everything in this masterpiece. If I had to choose one thing in the game as my favorite one, it'd be the character development you gave to, well, the main characters. It now belongs to the collection of well-written headcanons I've seen/read. I've read a few Touhou fan comics that explore what a character's origin could be, so I enjoyed this game's story to the fullest.
I've featured this game in my Jam showcase video. Not all of it though since it's got a lot to read through and I have to show the other games too:

Wonderful game! The art, story, sound, and gameplay were all amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed going through the game. I teared up a bit at the end and the music in particular absolutely blew me away. There are some minor issues with the UI and I felt like certain bullet patterns with the flip mechanic were somewhat unfair, but those are tiny issues in a fantastic game!
The art is fantastic and the music were all really impressive. It is interesting that you included minigames instead of going pure visual novel. The end of the story did made me sad, can you definitely nailed the writing. I like how you reference the events form the mainline games. One nit pick I would have is that the "critical seija moment" is a bit confusing in terms of presentation goes. Otherwise really good game.
Also do tell me where the OST is, or you have a playlist or something?nvm, saw the game pageI think you put together high quality assets and a solid story in such a way as to pull off the emotional moments that were intended, which is a difficult thing to attempt for jam games and a pleasant surprise. The soundtrack and art in particular are top-notch, and I like the effects on various parts of dialogue to make things more lively. The early minigames felt like they dragged on a bit, but the music helps a lot and I really like how they all came back in the final sequence.
I loved the story of this, though I struggled with the minigames, so thank you for the invincibility (either putting it in or leaving it in if it was a bug)
When designing the minigames, I wanted to have a reward for completing them (which in this case would be saving time), but also wanted everyone to be able to see the story. So, I came up with the idea of Invincibility after a certain amount of deaths. I’m glad you liked the story!
I'm not sure I understood the story completely (that's entirely on me) but blah blah love between two girls can heal a heart, that much I can get behind. Refreshing to see challenging gameplay interwoven with a deeply ingrained story. Anyway, thank you making this.
I like how the game takes off from the gaps in canon. Well done on that. Regarding the minigames, I guess the main point is the music (and the music is great), but I feel that they drag on a bit too long for what they are. It's not too bad, since this is a "play-once" kind of game, and I like the final minigame where everything was combined.
I can understand that. For example: the “ISC” minigame has a repeating pattern at the end because I was rushing to finish the game in time instead of something more interesting. It was a unique challenge to balance pacing with the music (especially with the end minigame).
wonderful all around
touhou can be kinda vague about things leading up to incidents in general and ddc i would say is more uncertain than any of the other windows games, and this does an awesome part at filling in the gaps. intentionally did not watch your uploads about the game before it was done so i was not expecting the minigames but they are all neat, and even though the first two are pretty simple the music and art carries. third was my favorite since you could kinda dance along to the music easily while still dodging everything and i will never say no to some vvvvvv so the fourth was cool too, especially in the escape sequence. lotsa rad art, wouldnt be surprised if some of the minigame sprites made their way to a danmaku game at some point because they already look the part
only complaint is that some segments like the aforementioned escape bit doesnt give me enough time to listen to the tunes!!! they are all very good
also it crashed when i changed audio outputs but that might be just about unfixable within a jam period depending on the engine
I liked the game a lot, my only comment is having esc auto-quit had me have to replay part of it.
Damn the piano music in First Steps sucked I sure wonder who composed it
I left myself almost entirely spoilerless while this was in development but damn is it charming. An absolute homerun, Megapig.
I really enjoyed the game, Seija and Shinmyoumaru are my 1st and 3rd favorite characters. It was cool to see a take on how they interacted after DDC. It was a really neat idea to explain it using the parts of the games after DDC.
A really cute time! You had a really interesting take on Seija's character; I've never been too into this ship because of how Seija acts, but I loved the connection between the two. It was really sweet to read, and I enjoyed how it tied into the Touhou canon too, though the dialogue could be awkwardly paced at times. The minigames were okay, though I do wish some of them were a little more fleshed out. The game where you dodged the YinYang Orbs was fun to play, and I liked the cloak game during the reprise at the end, though everything else was a little too simplistic I'd say, and the presentation on some of them was a little messy. I also found it off how music wasn't present during a lot of the cutscenes too, it made some scenes feel a little barren at times. The music that was present was pretty well composed though, and as I said, Seija and Shinmy had a really cute connection! Despite its flaws, I still very much enjoyed it; it was a fun little read!
Besides that gravity minigame that I kind of think it's a bit wonky, everything else about it is freaking dope! A short but very sweet story that integrated the minigames in a very seamless experience.
You have no idea how much this comment means to me after me and my team have been working so hard. Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
