Really enjoyed playing this. I thought the sound design was on-point! Really well done!

You slipped into French at one point during the rune explanation. Just wanted to point that out before I forget

Edit: I'm stuck, I can't figure out the second set of runes. Will have to try again some other time.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I just fixed the bug :)

Would you like a hint for the second rune puzzle?

Submitted

Sure. I know the voice mentions that the magic shield is “impalpable”, which I took as a hint to use the soul rune that’s similarly described as impalpable, but I couldn’t find a combination that worked.

Developer(+1)

That's right. The voice also mentions breaking a shield. So it's not the rune of restrictions but another rune. The last rune you should have, I think, is simply a breaking rune.

Submitted

Are you saying it’s soul + action? I thought I tried that multiple times and it didn’t do anything. I’ll try again

Developer

Soul, action and a third rune, yes.

Nice work!  Love your sound design as always!  The story and atmosphere give a kind-of relaxing but also edgy or creepy vibe haha

Developer

Thank you very much! I gave my all for this sound ambiance :D

More than a game this was an experience! This is by far the entry that nailed the theme the most. It's a shame it took so long (but I can get why). I will definitively play a game like this on Poki/CrazyGames and never suspect it was from a Trijam. There's a small bug after credits sound of hit box still occurs.  Great piece of art, congratulations!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind comment :D

I did see that bug, but after so much time spent on the game, it was the least of my worries XD I'll fix it after the Trijam votes.

A wonderful game that completely changes from the stress some games can cause. Here, we can take our time, staying attuned to the soundscape, to the story being told. The runes are so beautiful! And that box that just won’t open despite all our discoveries!! It’s a little gem, and I understand why it took so long to bring it to completion.

Developer

Thanks for your comment :D

It's true that this is the advantage of point-and-click games. It's all about exploring, trying, discovering and listening. It's a kind of game I love, but it definitely takes a long time to make. A few seconds of gameplay takes a long time to create!

Submitted(+1)

You really went above and beyond for this game. C'est génial!

Developer(+1)

This game took a bit out of my sanity, I admit XD! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

wow very nice! I didnt expected to see a kind of story based game here and I love it!

Developer

I think the second part of the “and see what happens” theme had a lot to do with that. If I'd just had to break a box, I'd have thought a lot more about the gameplay. But since I had to "see what happens", I ended up thinking a lot about the reasons for breaking a box. All this led me to Pandora's box and, one thing leading to another, to a story.

But that's also why this game took a lot longer than expected to make. In the end, telling a story is much more complex than simply setting up a gameplay.

Loved the atmosphere of your game, the various audio elements were exceptional and the rune design + glow effects were great!

Developer

Thank you very much! :D

The audio is clearly an essential point for me, especially when you want to emphasize the atmosphere.

And I'm glad the runes work. They play an important role in the gameplay, perhaps more than I had imagined.

Great mood thanks to the sound effects and voice acting! Simple story but efficient still. Great use of runes gameplay for puzzles. Clearly over time, but the important is to try, isn't it?

Developer

Thank you very much! Yes clearly over time! I already have a bad tendency to go over 3 hours, but this is too much. I need to learn to make small :)
