I think all enemies should spawn outside of the arena and gradually move inside. It was annoying when they would popup out of nowhere
But it's a cool concept :)
I loved how well SFX fit the gameplay =)
Quite challenging ! The gameplay fits the theme well - obviously the controls need some work and the bats spawn a little too close for comfort sometimes.
Another personal favourite in the jam :)
I think the movement mechanic is much more fitting for a puzzle game rather than action game. it's honestly really disorienting and confusing to move. but it was interesting bit of the challenge that worth experimenting
I can agree with that, a puzzle game probably would have been better.
Love it. The only thing I would say is the controls can be a bit confusing. You are pressing right and flip...and you start going left haha took my brain a bit to catch up!
Also the bats being unshootable when they are outside of the walls is so frustrating. They just seem to build up there.
Awesome idea though I really like it and it looks really nice as well.
If I had more time I definitely would have improved the spawn AI, it could have used some work. Currently it just spawns enemies in random parts of a donut shape around the player, which is good because things will never spawn too close or too far, but it should definitely be improved to only spawn things inside the arena. Thanks for playing.
