love how charming this looked and felt (even in the tense moments LOL)

This level of visual polish for a game jam is ridiculous!!! Your team has such a sick art direction and style going on :3

Outside of that, I really liked the themes of the story, even if the scene-to-scene writing felt a bit awkward or back and forth sometimes

But yea, overall I really liked it nya

Latent Heat's greatest strength is the extent to which it treats each narrative beat with respect. The art is extensive, and all of it is beautiful, and it is the only jam VN I've played that remains dynamic throughout as a result of its art. It is not simply quantity (though it is a huge boon), but the sprites are so expressive, the backgrounds are so lush, and the supernatural corruption is so striking with its color and form. It's all really beautiful, and it grants the narrative so much more weight than the text alone could deliver.

So much good art, omg! I love the distinct aesthetic of the game. that art style is GORGEOUS. The various character sprites and multiple backgrounds really brought the game to life. The writing was enjoyable, and I like the personalities and the relationship dynamic of the two :) both endings were packed with emotion and i had a lot of fun with this

Your art? Devoured, absolutely ate up like it was cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I aspire to reach even a micropercentage of the talent that made those backgrounds and lighting shots! You know you're starting strong when you open up with a question about birds and what type you would be, like YES I'm HOOKED. That building sense of dread had me turning my room light on, the lurking danger and the continuous bursts up to the climax... Let's just say I was decidedly NOT going to be a hero! (¬‿¬)

what a beautiful game! the quality of the artwork and cgs really brings life to the narrative, and i spent most it just glued to how amazing they looked :D the flatter, 2D style looks really stylistic, which makes the strange purple haze during faye’s visions and the bad ending seem all the more eldritch and strange. i also quite liked the uncanny bad ending – it made me feel so sad seeing maya walk off into the field alone…

…which makes the good ending all the more sweeter! i really had to force myself to be mean to faye bc i wanted to see the bad ending </3 but i’m glad i did since i always love ending on a good note hehe. and now they can walk off together, car-less but alive! good work on the jam :)

I thought it was just gonna be a cute little piece about BFFs/lesbians, but boy was I wrong!  I liked it though!  Also, the backgrounds & sprites are gorgeous!

Ate. Devoured. It's mine now, I ate it. The entire game.
