I like the premise of your game, it's quite unique.
Unfortunately I really could not figure out how this games works. I totally get the idea behind it and how the steps are to create the whiskey are supposed to work but even after watching you tutorial video I could not make a single barrel of regular whiskey. Not sure if those are bug or I just don't get it.
I think the game could be really interesting if it would be clearer how it works. I could totally see this either an Overcooked like game, with a character to run around an carry the barrels and turn wheels and stuff, or as some sort of simulation where you can spend the money you make to buy more equipment to get oven more stuff.
If you release an update at some point I would totally check your game out again. Daddy needs his whiskey :D
Nevertheless good work!
oh, yeah I'm patching it as we speak and rebuilding the tutorial. Fyi, regular is just the smoothness rating you get after the first round in the still. Once you have the corresponding symbol you can cask and sell it but I'll let you know when it's fixed up
The font fits the concept of the game and the music is great as well. From watching the tutorial it seems there is some potential with this game idea. Great job. :D
The game took a while to figure out. I appreciate the video tutorial because I was fairly lost before I watched. There is definitely some good concepts here I think having better on-boarding would be nice, maybe even re-configuring the screen so that the main steps are occurring left to right or vice versa. Just little context clue to help a newby or someone who doesn't know much about the distillation process. Aside from that I can see the fun of running a bunch of orders of various complexity. Great work!
Yeah I didn't realize how useless my tutorial was until upload. Thanks for the input I am definitely going to implement the improvement and bug fixes people have been mentioning.
It was a bit overwhelming at first, the layers you have going on are pretty interesting and obviously grounded in some pretty solid knowledge. It made me want to go get a nice bottle right away. Maybe there is some legs in getting in touch with an actual distillery and tapping that marketingf budget. Good work
That would be funny for sure. It was hard to balance realism with fun. I took away some of the boring stuff like having to keep the heat at the exact right temperature. instead thought just stoking the fire was hard enough that and no management of raw ingredients like sugars, barley, and yeast would have been too much. but yeah once I fix some of the bugs I think its the level of challenge some people enjoy. It gets hectic for sure.
Really Cool Game, I Didn't Really Know How To Play At First But Later The Game Felt Really Good After, I Like The Art. That All, Good Game ;P
thanks, wait until the patch when it becomes harder and that more requests get added. I indented something by accident at the end didn't realize it haha it gets up to customers wanting 3 specifics
Also struggling with how to actually play the game, even with tutorial on
I apologize, I have created a tutorial on youtube and linked it hopefully it helps
I think I'm a bit confused like, the tutorial is showing what to do but it seems unresponsive. I saw you had a bug after the second barrel that can impede progress so I think I was running into that. I can't blame you though, its the worst when you get a bug right before the deadline and you don't have enough time to catch it. Still like idea though, hopefully you can get it working after the jam is over!
I linked to a youtube video hopefully shows some clarity. But yea I plan to bug fix and submit after the jam if anyone wants to play
uploaded a video, still has the bugs but might add some clarity at least
I don't really understand how to play the game
I think I will do a quick Video tomorrow remedying this, I thought the Arrows and text were enough but I guess not my bad.
