Welcome to stick it to heaven aka the best game out there with a boss that could literally yeet you of existence unless you get behind a wall the boss is harder than Father Gascoigne , the enviroment is amazing and feels alive even tho its somewhat empty but believe me you would forgot about that once you encounter your first doggo , it gives you a horse head for some reason , that's fine I'm not complai--- wait the horse head is kinda useless its fine...moving on , find yourself a tree to get another stick by breaking the tree with your stick and getting wooden shield on your stick that 90% of us didn't utilize even tho the devs are begging us to do so same goes to that  magic upgrade thingy fr who used that it would clearly help us defeat the boss along with the shield but no...lets run at the boss with that tentacle thingy that you get from the hell elephant creature thing , oh I forgot you could heal from the fruits on the tree...whats that? we didn't notice and broke the tree anyways thats fine...there's a cactus everywhere you look lets run into it and get some damage then we'll decide to hit it and destroy to get our health back...now back to the boss...

anyways , you guys did an excellent job you made a game harder than bloodborne but I had fun with my buddy while playing it we had a laugh on vimlark's stream and ingame it was an amazing experience 5/5 for everything!

Great game!

I love the art style and the fluid and fast movement. Reminds me of the good old Quake days.

Using and upgradable stick is a pretty nice idea. Especially because you can stack multiple addons to the stick. First I got another stick that made the the weapon look like a cross and then I got a Sword and shortly after the magic orb which is my favorite and made it rather easy to kill the gate keeper. I think this is great. If you want more of a challenge grab only the stick or the sword. If you need it easier and want to keep distance grab the orb. I like the variety of how I can solve "kill the gate keeper" problem.

The map was rather large but did not feel boring. Moving fast help a lot with that. I had some trouble finding the boss again after I had to run away for a while. I would not add a map but maybe a marker or some compass marking pointing towards the gate would be nice.

On minor thing that annoyed me a bit but is of course a personal preference: I could not invert the mouse. Other than that it was very enjoyable

It's really awesome what you did in 10 days! Well done!

Thanks for playing! Im glad you enjoyed it.

Definitely noting to add more control configurations in the future, shouldn't be hard to add and accessibility is crucial!

I feel that on the map markers. I made the map on my last day and it was a mad scramble. Next time going for a bit smaller of a map and try to push it to friends to test sooner so everyone isn't getting lost. I appreciate the feedback!

For making the map on the last day it really looks great. I think for the game and what you can do a smaller map would have also worked but it's also nice to have something bigger to roam around.

I also underestimated how hard people will find my game. But hey, lesson learned :D

Really cool map! This was really different for a jam game, and I like that. It almost feels like a vertical slice for an MMO, the way the upgrade loop works.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Im glad you liked the map because I kinda mad scrambled to put it together and once I put it together I was like, uh oh its too big! Had to write some scripts to help populate it and then went in afterwards and tried to curate it a little to set up some worldbuilding, but I think I was short on different types of assets to do that. Next game jam I am going to have much more realistic expectations when it comes to setting up an open world lol.

Nice. I had very little skill going on on my side of things but I really enjoyed it none the less. I like the enemy models and the world feel generally. It felt a bit flat when it can to contact stuff, it could have done with more juice to hit you in the feels. But hey a lot of good work has gone into this one.

Developer

I FORGOT THE JUICE!!! You are 100% right, I could definitely add a lot more feel to the hits. Thank you for playing and your feedback!

This is a wonderful game! I love how each enemy drops a different upgrade so you have to fight a variety if you want to see all the upgrades, plus i love how you could also attack the trees and cacti to get healing items, but the cacti could also hurt you. It was a little laggy when using the melee options, so i stuck to the only ranged upgrade I could fine, but I haven't seen any other 3d first person games so it's very unique and even without being unique, it stands out with how well everything works. The difficulty with the lag with melee options is the only thing I have issue with.

Developer

Thank you for playing and giving feedback! I am glad you enjoyed it! One thing  I realized is that I made the mistake of having the attack damage check instantly, instead of timed up with the attack animation which seems to make it feel laggy and unreliable. Wish I had spent a bit more time early on flushing this mechanic out because combat is such a core feature of the game.  Another thing I learned is to test your web builds early and often because they can perform much differently compared to your native builds.
