How does your game implement the focus, Multi-Use?
I created an ability that will be only be used once every 10-15 seconds and the player will have to choose between getting health or 2x damage from it , (I'm not sure if this could count) also , the pistol you're using can kill your enemies and can be also be used to clear up your path from objects (other than enemies) I promise you this isn't a spam game , I put all my effort into it and I hope thats enough :D

Team Size

Solo (1)

Completeness

Demo / Vertical Slice

What tools did your team use to construct the game?
Godot , Aseprite , Paint.net (for the logo) , Snipping tool (for that one screenshot on the game's page)

Which art and audio did you / your team NOT create?
All the music in my game belong to an amazing composer DavidKDB , The tilesets also belong to Tilation everything else including sprites animations level design are done by me (Both people mentioned are credited twice ingame , and once in the description with links to their itch.io accounts)

Which art & audio did you / your team create BEFORE the jam started?
All art and audio were just chosen/made during the jam

Good effort, solid game. I like the in-depth tutorial! The shooting itself is entertaining and the slow-mo a cool addition. Sometimes enemies were able to shoot me through walls - I suppose there were gaps in the collision boxes?

Developer(+1)

Thanks alot for playing I'm glad you enjoyed my game in some way or another , the enemies shooting through the wall is a bug or might be something else I'm still looking into it and its still on my to do list after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

It was a good game. The tutorial was well put together. The periodic buffs and slow motion add distinction to the game.

Some enemies where shooting me through the wall, and it doesn't seem intentional. But that did not ruin my experience.

Developer(+1)

Thanks alot for playing , I'm glad you enjoyed certain aspects in my game , you're right the enemies shooting through the walls isn't intentional infact I'm planning to fix it entirely after the jam along with other things , thank you again for playing and giving me feedback! :D

I saw your comments on Vimlark stream and I was really surprises that this was your first game! Really amazing work!

Some feedback:

  • Controls and movement are really nice and responsive
  • Great SFXs :)
  • Maybe make the projectiles slower so you can see them and try to avoid them, this will add strategy to the game.
    • I think that adding a roll mechanic could improve the game too :)
  • You can use something call raycasting to know if the enemies can see the player  before, will avoid the issue of them trying to shoot from another rooms.

Hi Zuela thanks alot for playing my game I'm glad you enjoyed it , Yeah it isn't exactly my first game more like my first " top down shooter" I've ever worked on!

Yeah I think too many things are on my to do list including the ones that you mentioned , I'll try to figure something out related to the "shooting from other rooms" issue!

thank you again for playing again and thank you for your amazing feedback!

Neat game! Sound is nice and punchy. Not sure if the enemies are meant to be able to shoot me through the walls. Awsome effort though!

Developer(+1)

thank you alot for playing , I'm glad you liked certain aspects of my game , the enemies shouldn't shoot you through walls , no , its a bug sadly but I'll fix it after the jam is entirely over , thanks alot again for playing your comment made my day!

This was enjoyable, well done

Developer

thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

You're cute too! Haha.
That was a fun game. I really liked the animation. The sound effects and music fit really nicely too, although I think the audio on death felt out of place, but I'm just getting nit-picky lol. Of course, the shooting collision and stuff wasn't great, but it wasn't that big of a deal, especially because you can do it too; so, it's not a bug, it's a feature! Haha.
Nice work, keep it up!

Developer

Thanks alot for your amazing comment , I'm glad you liked certain aspects of my silly lil game I'm truly glad you enjoyed it , and about the shooting collision , Yeah will you take a look at that you could be shot or you could shoot through the walls fixing this is on my to do list after the jam is over...

Thanks alot for your support! :D

That was a fun shooter! There was a good amount of juice with the shooting which made it a joy to run around killing like a maniac. I may have been a bit bold (or just bad) because I did receive the message "You died fam" a lot lol. Regardless it was a trip to run through the levels and I feel like the enemies were well spaced and positioned to keep things interesting. Whenever hot mode came on I was like alright time to go berserk! I feel like tinting the screen red or maybe adding some post processing effects could really add to the hot mode feel. All in all I had a blast! Thank you!

P.S. I feel you on Godot exporting to web troubles. This was my first time using Godot and I did my first web build on Sunday and everything was broken. The game ran at like 5 FPS, the lighting was all screwed up and for some reason the floor was pitch black.  I lost like 6 hours on the last day just trying to make it playable on web and had to ditch a lot of stuff. One thing that seemed to help me a lot was to change the render driver to GLES2. That made all of my particle effects not work, but at least the ground would render, the lighting would work and it helped with the framerate a little.  Not sure if that would fix your web issues, but I figured I would share what helped me.

Great game and great work!

Developer

oh man thank you alot for your kind words , believe me I've had countless ideas including adding some effects for my character once it enters "hot mode" like adding fire around the screen and the music would change (just an example of what I wanted) but was afraid of overscoping so I wanted something simplistic since this is my first attempt at a top down shooter!

and fr now godot exporting to web issues are wild I remember the first time I encountered it , it was in my second project "TheGoldenApple" I simply added the "WorldEnviroment" node and all of a sudden some people had issues where the game would just freeze for some reason and the graphics will disappear leaving the page blank people thought I was trying replicate some "Fnaf effect" and I was like no its just an issue for some people the issue never happened but for some it did...hopefully in godot 4 things might change!

Thank you for playing fam , you made my day with these kind words I'm super glad you enjoyed it! :D

A solid little game. I enjoyed the way it played. I am sure I wont be the first to mention the walls so that is all I will say on that. One of the things with the ability becoming available every 15 seconds meant I soon realised I could just hang about and become fully healed and deadly. I think with that kind of system you need something in the game loop that puts pressure on you to keep moving forward as I got to one hit kills just by being chill. Good work though and I had some genuine fun playing this.

Developer

thank you alot for playing , yeah about the walls issue its on my to do list after the jam along with other things , and about the ability yeah I wanted the player to be somewhat deadly I'll figure something to make the player use em often , thanks for playing again and thank you for taking your time and writing feedback on my silly lil game! :D

I enjoyed being deadly tbf

Fun game, I think it looks really good, and it felt really smooth for a shooter.

I usually don't dig such games but this one was a pleasure, and another tap on the back for the solid tutorial. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks alot for your kind words you really made my day with what you just said I'm glad you liked it sooo much!

Submitted(+1)

Liked the slow-motion and the fact that you can solve everything with a gun. Fun game, congratulations!

Developer

Thanks alot for playing I'm glad you liked it alot , hopefully in the near future I'll be adding more guns!

Submitted(+1)

The gun shooting sound is great and doesn't feel too loud but not to quiet the music is also great. Overall well done. :D

Developer

Thanks alot for playing and providing feedback , I promise I'll fix the gun sound after the jam to fit your taste , glad you liked the music aswell , thanks alot again for playing I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Submitted(+1)

What I meant was that the gun is good. :D

Submitted(+1)

Very very nice! Great player feedback such as camera shake, and hit sounds etc It all felt very responsive! Id be proud of this one! GJ!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game! The music was really solid, and overall the game was super fun! Some parts of the levels felt a bit too tight, but I liked the challenge of the later levels a lot.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words I'm glad you liked my lil game!

Yeah the aim was to let the player engage in tight closed areas... I will work further on the game and add more spice to it! (levels weapons and objectives) also gonna do some balancing too many things in mind!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game ! Enjoyable shooting and fun slow motion!

Sometimes enemies able shoot through the walls, only bug that I encountered.

And I dont understand - why i had level ups when just stay in the room and shoot in the wall?

Developer

Thanks alot for playing my game , I'm glad you enjoyed some aspects of my game!

The enemies will be hopefully fixed after the jam is over along with other things!

I mean you and enemies shooting through the wall wasn't intended in the first place once I exported few glitches and bugs was discovered by other players , I didn't notice the issues until after submitting the point was to give the player enough power to push but that failed a bit after that bug!

Thanks again for playing and sorry if the experience with the AI wasn't that good!

Submitted(+1)

Oh, it would be grate if you polish this project after jam. It has potential!

Submitted(+1)

Would have loved to play this one with a controller instead of my AZERTY keyboard, haha. The game is competently made and I liked this Yuzo Koshiro'esque music loop that plays in the background. The fact that you have to use the bullet time to actually see the projectiles is a pretty neat take on the multi-use limitation. My only complaint are the enemies shooting through walls. Other than that, well done !

Developer

Thank you , your words truly brighten up my day , for real thanks alot for your kind words , I'm super glad that you liked my short lil game , also about the enemies they're on my to do list after the jam is done along with other things...Thanks alot truly for playing my game!

Submitted(+1)

Kept getting shot through walls and was a bit hard to tell when the enemies were shooting me, but other than that it's a great concept and quite fun to play!

Developer

Thanks alot for playing as everyone else said the enemies are whack they need alot of work and they're on my to do list after the jam , forgive me for the terrible experience with the AI , thank you alot for playing my game and I'm glad you liked other aspects of my game!

Submitted(+1)

really like the juice in the game

shooting down the enemies feels good

looks like hotline miami

Developer

Thank you I'm glad you liked it , like some comments here , I'm still surprised people get hotline miami vibes from this I'm happy its somewhat a satisfaction to play my game I didn't expect that at all so seeing comments like yours make my day , thanks alot for playing! :D

Submitted(+1)

This was a really fun twin stick shooter to play. The sound effects of the gun shots are satisfying and the art is great. However, I did run into some issues with the enemies being able to shoot me through walls in some areas, mainly happening with only one block of wall between us. The only other complaint I have with the game is I wish the meter for the time slow ability refills on it's own over time instead of having to hold down a key for it. Other than that nice job!

Developer

thank you I'm glad you liked it , there's alot of things that I'm planning to fix after the jam including the issues you mentioned , I'm glad you liked it and thank you alot for playing and giving me feedback!

Submitted(+1)

It obviously remind me of Hotline Miami too. The shoot is really satisfying. Enemies shoot through walls (we can too. It's a bug happen because the extremity of the weapon is on the other side of south walls). The enemies are also 'seeing' you through walls.

Overall, that was fun to play.

Developer(+1)

Thank you I'm glad you liked my (somewhat) liked my game , I'm still surprised people compare it to that game , and about the enemy issues well...I'm planning to work on the entire game after the jam I think I have a fix for it but its kinda late to make an update now so after the jam when I find time for myself I'll be 100% working on the game fixing my AI adding more levels and balancing things out , sooo thanks alot for your feedback and thank you for playing my game! :D

Submitted(+1)

You did a great job making this in a short amount of time!

Developer
