How does your game implement the focus, Multi-Use?
The peppers can either be used to progress in the game or to escape when the cat is caught by a chef. The dustbins and vents where the cat can hide are also multi-use by nature as they are used in a kitchen but can also be used to hide by the cat.

This was awesome! Thanks so much for submitting. I had a lot of fun with this and I love your implementation of the theme. On the 2nd level I ran into a couple of minor bugs. I got stuck because a chef stood in each pathway and didn't move for awhile. I think increasing how much the chefs move would add a bit more of a challenge to it and prevent players from being stuck for too long if pathways are blocked.

I really enjoy the effort you put into the dialogue/story sort of element. That definitely added to the feel of game! Thanks so much for the submission, I'd love to know if you end up continuing work on this!

Really awesome effort.  Liked the concept.  I think with a little work on the chefs it could be really amazing.

I really like the concept and the theme of the game!

The desing is simple and it works. Chefs are not threatening enough in my opinion.  They often got stuck or stand still without doing nothing. I think they could move faster and have more range to catch the cat, that could make things more spicy!

The game looks fun, but I encountered several times the same bug (even in tutorial) : can't move any-more. Despite that, I manage to play and it was quite fun to play. Of course some polish will be good, but it's just a jam. I manage to put spice even with the chief just i front of the pot :) . I don't see the necessity of using mouse, just SPACE to add spice/get spice/cover/uncover should be enough. Overall well done.

Spicy ;)

Very nice game! Well done. Encountered some bugs, but it is a jam game. Fun overall. Maybe next time plan well ahead to make sure the game is bug free.

Hilarious premise. Looks and sounds great. What a funky soundtrack!

The stealth aspect is somewhat disappointing because the chefs tend to stay in one place for quite a long time.

Note that the WebGL version was too slow to be playable for me. (I have a 3.30GHz processor and 16GB RAM, running Win11.)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I kinda realised I needed a WebGL version 5 minutes to the end of the jam  right after fixing bugs in the Windows version so I couldn't do anything to make it better but I'm glad you liked it!

Did you try the Windows version? The chefs tend to stay in one place shorter in the downloadable builds.

Submitted

Yeah, the Windows version is how I actually played the game! The WebGL version was running so slow the cat wouldn't move.

I love the game, super interesting mechanics. Well executed. I only had a bug in the second level where I could no longer do anything and the cat seemed to walk, but it wasn't really moving either. Good job!

The concept of this game is pretty cool and the game could totally work as a full game with more polishing (like animations, level design, enemies) and maybe more mechanics or objects to interact with. It totally gives me some Overcooked vibes which is good.

The art style is great, I love how the cat looks out of the vent when you hide. The music is also fitting and overall the vibe of the is pretty nice.

I had a bug in the tutorial. At some point, I assume the end of it, the dog chef just moved to the left and the cat moved forward and then I could not proceed by pressing space but also not move around. The regular levels I played worked fine for me.

I had fun playing your game. Well done!

truly an interesting game a well deserved good rating from me! :D

Concept and premise is interesting, can definitely be more polished if there was more feedback and animations. Slightly buggy but quite fun. +1 for cat

Developer

Thank you for your comment and constructive criticism. Can I ask what bugs you experienced so I can improve it after the jam?

Also, your game is really good!

The bugs are minor, when selecting the levels in the menu when clicking on level 3 sometimes it sends you to level 1 instead of level 3. Not sure how this happens, might be because of scrolling through levels too quickly

This concept is neat, sabotage focused overcooked. It would be really funny if you could see the results of your sabotage like the chefs tasting the food and burning their mouths or serving it to a customer and getting yelled at.

There were a few times in which the game would boot back to the main menu which I assume is the fail state for getting caught? It's not very clear what happens there.

Enemy movement isn't very telegraphed which makes it difficult to tell when they're moving and where they're supposed to stop. I assume they're on random timers or maybe just a bug interrupting their pathing at times. Some of the chefs freeze up completely which makes me think it's the latter.

I appreciate all cat games especially stealth focused ones, this one just needs some more feedback.

Developer(+1)

Hey! Yeah I really wanted to add an end screen showing the effect of the spiciness on customers and/or chefs but i just didn't have the time.

I also wanted to add some telegraphing for the chef movement but again, not enough time. Did the pepper spray animation work before booting you to the main menu for you? I spent a few hours debugging that one.

Anyway, your game is amazing and thank you for the constructive feedback.
