This was seriously the most beautiful game of the jam. Managing to get a good story with a fun world all with stunning visuals, animation, and sound is really incredible. This is an awesome game, one of my favorites from this jam for sure!

Awesome game! I really liked the push and pull of using the gun. I think if you wanted to expand on he idea you could add enemies which require you to be really mobile and vertical to defeat.

This was awesome! So much charm for so little development time. You really nailed it with the music, it made the game for me!

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the pretzel crosshair, that was my favorite little detail.

  • i really wanted to do my own UI, but ran out of time. That and particles were the things that got cut for time.
  • yeah dunno what happened with the volume sliders lol
  • they spawn in one of three locations randomly
  • 10 is definitely pretty long yeah
  • yeah, the melody is so repetitive
  • you can knead the dough up to 9 times to get 3 different guns, and it cycles back through them!

Thanks for the feedback! :)

oh honestly I do too! I really didn't budget my time well, and had to cut a lot of the things I wanted to do right at the end.

Awesome game! The music was really solid, and overall the game was super fun! Some parts of the levels felt a bit too tight, but I liked the challenge of the later levels a lot.

The sound effects were made at 5AM, that's all I'll say LOL

I really enjoyed your game too! I loved the sound and music you had for everything!

Glad you enjoyed! I thought your game was gorgeous!!

haha fair enough! There's not a whole lot of musical material to work with in the original tune, so I should've added some breakdown sections without the melody.  The working title of the game funny enough was Eat Gun

It's really cool that you went for making and sharing your own levels for a game jam, that shows a lot of technical prowess and ambition! Nice work!

Really cool map! This was really different for a jam game, and I like that. It almost feels like a vertical slice for an MMO, the way the upgrade loop works.

It's genuinely unbelievable that you made this solo in a week, and that's awesome! This is tremendous in all aspects of game design for a jam game, really incredible job. The art and game feel in particular are stellar. The way you managed tutorials and HUD UI are also really clean. Can't wait to see what else you make!

Always nice to see a fellow FMOD user! Cool game, I really love the fact that the soundtrack generates itself overtime, but with all the saxophone imagery I was hoping to hear some sax! I think adding small animations for the player and the asteroids would go a long way.

Very nice presentation overall!

Love the artwork! The building art is especially cute.

5 Star visuals! The game really stands out as beautiful and atmospheric. You also did a good job picking and implementing a good sound-scape with the music and SFX! I could definitely see the game expanding to have the player explore a world and gain new abilities.

Got over 10000 points! Really fun game idea, and I love a good theme name pun. I like the endless mode for the jam version, but I think a level mode would really make the game shine if you wanted to finish it. Great energy on the song for when aphids are attacking! Nice work, definitely worthy of high ratings!

Really solid ideas here! 5 stars for really using the themes to their full extent.

Overall great presentation! The audio and visuals were really cohesive and pleasant. Your puzzle designs were the best part of the game for me! I think locking movement to a grid would have helped some of the fiddley-ness of selecting the right object and moving around obstacles.

That was awesome! Great thematically, excellent polish, solid art and sound, and even great comedic timing. It left me wanting more, which is perfect for a game jam! I especially thought your use of the theme was perfect. This was really really solid, definitely one of my favorites from this jam.  Other people have already mentioned what I would recommend for the game, so no notes from me! Great work! :)

The presentation is really stunning, with a ton of visual polish; unbelievable for a game jam! I think the biggest thing you could improve on is music. The melodic plucky synth became grating to the ear really quickly just because it wasn't tonally centered or memorable, and picking a key and staying inside it is a surefire way to avoid this. Not saying the music has to be catchy, but if you're going to use mostly one chord throughout the song has to be carried by some other musical aspect. That could be a strong melody, cool sound design, interesting layering, or many other things. I can tell you've got potential for good songwriting, please keep making more music!

Nice overall presentation! You touched on all the major components of a game, and I think if you aim to do more overall in your next game jam you'll do well! Other people have said it, but clearer instructions would be helpful too.

Very fun! The zombies needing to be on the planks really added a lot of depth to the strategy of the game. Considering how frequently it happens, I think toning down the animation and sound effect for killing a zombie would really improve things.

Glad you liked it! There's a slider to change sens under settings on the main menu!
