Great racing concept! Are boats supposed to sail on land? Seems like a bug to me.

Developer

haha, congrats you found a bug :D

no theyre not supposed to do that >.<

i think we had that once when playtesting but it didnt occur anymore after that so as any good gamedesigner we just ignored it ;)

Thanks for plaiyng :)

I know AI is allowed, and you disclosed it, but the music just sounds so hollow and soulless. I think instrumentals would’ve been better, but even still.

Apart from that the gameplay is unique and fun. I enjoyed

Developer(+1)

im sorry you didnt enjoy the music :(

since we both are no sounddesigners and had limited time we decided to go in that direction and thought the pirate music adds a fun motivation.

thanks for playing anyways :)

Yeah, the game itself is really fun. As I said, unique and interesting. I’d recommend going to YouTube channels like @FreeMusic and sites like epidemic sounds for your music and effects, because they have a lot of cool ones for free.

Cool concept! Was challenging to know when to start slowing down, and when to avoid the pirates! I think having health pickups or other items would be a cool addition, but this feels nice as-is! :D

Developer(+1)

Pickups were definitely on the list and also different kinds of enemies like cannons that shoot from the coast

but we were just too slow :D

Thanks for playing :)

Great game. Of course the game will benefit some cosmetics, SFX, animation, but the gameplay is brilliant.
It looks like some child game (It's not pejorative) done with a graph paper. With simple rule, you have to master acceleration/deceleration, momentum to manage your turns, avoid crashes.
I found the map a bit long, and some visibility on the next turn will be good with some mini-map, or a way to move the camera, or simply a blinking sign telling you where it gone turn next...

Good game. Congratulation !

Developer

yeah definitely, sadly we both are no artists or sound designer so the time didnt allow for that :)

but we had a lot of fun and might add some improvements in the future :)

thanks for playing

Really cool concept! Turn-based racing is a really cool idea, once you pick up speed things get pretty hectic, so you have to learn when to slow down to be able to make the turns.
Liked it a lot! :)

Developer

thanks for playing and im glad you enjoyed it :)

i had fun playing this, getting a last minute turn in and watching the other ships crash around you is rather satisfying - nice one!

Thanks for the comment :)

im happy you enjoyed it :)

This 'ere be a lovely game!

One thing you could improve is when clicking outside of the dots, it follows the currently selected path. A minimap might also be nice, but that could also alter the gameplay too much.

Nice job!

Developer

Hey thanks for playing :)

yeah theres a lot of room for improvement. We also thought about adding more camera movement options but didnt have the time :)

glad you enjoyed it :)
