That console was fantastic. The responsiveness of the buttons and options you gave the player to interact with the robot were great. I loaded up the little robot and drove him around the room a bit, but I wasn't sure where to deliver the stuff. I know you didn't have time for sounds, but that would probably be a good place to have some kind of voice over telling you what to do as you progress with the robot. Great entry, smooth controls!
Thank you for such a great review.
Regarding the instructions there is a printer on top of the control console which is printing all the instructions and missions.
I saw a lot of attentions were put to set design. really like little details such as how the camera fades from one to another with snow. and the design of the operation desk is classic and retro. looking forward if you are going to add some sound in it.
I am glad you like the design.
Awesome job! The printer was really stylish and juicy ;) The idea is cool, you could push this one to Apple or Quest pro, with the new cameras and passthrough I see that game using the station with passthrough/AR and switching to normal VR load and help robot.
Thank you! I am glad you like the printer, it was a last minute addition. I had to find a way to give information to players without some additional screens and pop-up.
I'll have to research AR and passtrough but currently I don't have access to hardware and it is kinda pricey. Quest 3 should make it more affordable if I am not mistaken.
This is an amazing entry to the jam! I hope you get more views on this game, because it totally deserves it! I think it could definitely become a full scale game if you decide to keep working on it!
Some points of feedback would be that the paper order system need just a bit of tweaking. The material used for the paper itself is really shiny, and can make the orders hard to read. This is especially critical when you’re trying to reference the map.
On that line, I think allowing the player to “hang” the orders in some way would be really helpful. Sort of like how in “I Expect You to Die”, you can kinda suspend papers in the air.
Final thing is just that sometimes the order papers collide with the player collider and causes the player to shoot up way high into the air. That’s an easy enough fix though.
But other than those minor tweaks, I loved it! With some more polish and time, I could totally see this becoming a full game! Keep it up!
Thank you for such a great feedback.
There was a problem with lighting in build and I figured it out 30 minutes before submission and barely made it even with this broken lighting. Paper collider problem pass under the radar and went into submission build.
I figured out what was the problem with lights and fix it as well as paper collider. Fixed version is uploaded as well.
