The artwork and movement is outstanding! I didnt have a friend to play with but I can imagine this being a lot of rivalry / smash-like kinda fun! Health regenerated a bit too fast imo, I was barely doing more damage per second than the enemy healed. I feel like the player should do something to heal themselves. Anyhow, really nice entry, are you going to continue development? I can definitely see this become a nice released title! :D
Cedric killing it with the high quality animation again! 😁
Wasn't able to play multiplayer, but the practice mode felt like it had tons of polish. There's loads of abilities, so there's a lot to sink your teeth into. I would say that some of the ability cooldowns feel a bit harsh. I spent quite a bit of time just jumping around, trying to collect more mana.
Definitely looking forward to a full singleplayer mode, though!
Pixel art is amazing as always!
The possibilities of combining spells was really cool too
What I liked
- The art is fantastic. It justs looks soo good.
- I liked that you added controller support. Some games really benefit from having that option.
- The theme was well implemented with the combination of a lot of cool abilities
- The music fit the visuals.
- Movement mechanics felt really natural for the look and type of game
- I loved the UI for the ability system.
I'd love to see single player eventually implemented. Congrats on a great game!
I didn't manage to play a session so I won't leave a rating, but the pixel art looks amazing! I got to the practice UI and I had absolutely no clue how to proceed.
I like this game that was created in this deadlines and that's why:
I like coop games, that's really fun to play with your friends or against them and the gameplay in this game implements this fun in the right way
Art is good, simple and nothing extra, beauty
Same I am gonna say about audio
Theme realized very nicely
And game is pretty original, i saw something like this somewhere, but this works well and gameplay objectively is good
Great work! This plays a lot like an actually published game I bought made by another indie developer, and the fact that you did it during a game jam is impressive! My biggest piece of feedback if you decide to continue development is that you should make the maps bigger. The characters are so fast that it feels like a shame to confine them to such a small space. Also, the items are not very balanced, but I wasn't expecting any different given the timeframe. Well done!
The art style lured me in and the idea of designing your own mage build kept me in this game for a long while! Unfortunately I couldn't really play much since I don't have another person, but seeing a TON of options to choose from had me do a bunch of practice fights just to see how they all look. If only there was a way to play solo to truly test my ideal mage build. But overall great work on the entry!
I unfortunately didn't have anyone to play this game with to experience it how it was likely meant to be experienced, but I think the concept of building out your own custom mage is great. The sheer variety of spells you incorporated is incredibly impressive so it's understandable that getting a working AI to use all those spells would probably fall outside the time frame of a game jam. Great job with this!
